Patent number: 8116440Abstract: When a transmission of image data to a destination has not been completed, retransmission processing in which the image data is repeatedly transmitted to the destination is performed and the number of times the transmission has been performed is counted. When the number is higher than a predetermined value, the sender is informed about the occurrence of transmission error and whether the modification of destination information has been requested is determined. When the modification has been requested, the destination information is modified; when the modification has not been requested, the destination information is deleted and then the deletion of the destination information is informed. When stored destination information including destinations of data is wrong, the use of the destination information is inhibited, which prevents users as recipients from feeling displeasure.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2007Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Suehiro Ueda, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Patent number: 8077329Abstract: A display device of an electronic apparatus according to the present invention is a display device of an electronic apparatus for setting a plurality of conditions for a process of the electronic apparatus through an input portion 57 while displaying the conditions before the electronic apparatus performs the process in accordance with the conditions. The device comprises a determination portion 58 of determining whether or not each of the conditions has not yet been set, and a liquid crystal display panel 41 of displaying notifying information indicating to what degree conditions remain to be set. The liquid crystal display panel 41 displays buttons for setting the respective conditions on a screen thereof, and displays button(s) which have already been pressed as being unfilled and the number of buttons which have not yet been pressed. Therefore, by viewing the screen, the number and types of conditions which have not yet set can be known.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2004Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Norihide Momose, Norihide Kunikawa, Suehiro Ueda, Masayuki Gomi, Atsushi Umekage

Patent number: 7855795Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission apparatus and method which realize a redial function and prevents the leakage of transmission information to the outside by inhibiting the display of the information including a destination to which retransmission is made, when it is determined that a predetermined condition is satisfied, whereby security can be enhanced. When the transmission of image data is not completed, a control section performs a retransmission process for transmitting again the image data to the same destination with the use of the redial function, and counts the number of times of the transmission. The control section determines whether the number of times of the transmission is greater than a predetermined value or not. When the number of times of the transmission is greater than the predetermined value, the control section reports a transmission error and deletes the information including the destination.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2007Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Suehiro Ueda, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Patent number: 7692810Abstract: When a user transmits data from a PC to the outside, log information can be accumulated in a composite machine connected via network to the PC and an unnecessary data outflow due to the data transmission can be prevented. In the PC, a transmission acceptance portion accepts from a user an operation for transmitting data to the outside of network and a data transfer portion transfers outside transmission data defined as a transmission target by the transmission acceptance portion to the composite machine via the network without transmitting directly to the outside. In the image forming apparatus (composite machine, etc.), a data reception portion receives the outside transmission data transmitted from the PC via the network, which are transmitted to the outside by a data transmission portion, and a log accumulation portion accumulates log information of the outside transmission data.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Suehiro Ueda, Syoichiro Yoshirua, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Patent number: 7610411Abstract: There is provided a mediation section (34) for switching between an active status in which data transmitted to a specific address is registered and processed and a non-active status other than the active status. When the mediation section (34) judges that unprocessed data stored in a data storage section (31) cannot be processed in a predetermined time, the mediation section (34) instructs one or more other MFPs to change into the active status and causes the MFP including the mediation section (34) to change into the non-active status, so as to cause a data processing section (32) to process the unprocessed data. As a result, it is possible to perform mediation concerning a job (data) without using a server.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2004Date of Patent: October 27, 2009Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Atsushi Umekage, Suehiro Ueda, Hiroshi Takatani
