  • Publication number: 20150172960
Abstract: A communication control method used in a relaying intermediate node at a movement source of a mobile node in a case that a handover is performed. The communication control method includes the forwarding of a user data to a relaying intermediate node at a movement destination of the mobile node wherein the user data having been received from an anchor node, and wherein the user data being addressed to the mobile node, and wherein the user data being stored in a buffer of the relaying intermediate node at the movement source of the mobile node. The communication control method also includes the continuing of the forwarding of the user data as long as the buffer has not been emptied. In addition, the communication control method includes the sending of a transfer cancel notification to the relaying intermediate node at the movement destination of the mobile node.

  • Patent number: 8325677
Abstract: There are provided a communication system, a control apparatus, a router, and communication method thereof, there are capable of eliminating loss in packets during a handover and effectively releasing a resource of a router in a network base IP mobility protocol in which a mobile mode is movable without mounting a special protocol. When an MN 1 as a mobile terminal is moved, a router at a movement destination, a mobile access gateway (MAG)b 3 that has received a router solicitation from the MN 1 sends a location registration to a control apparatus, a local mobility anchor (LMA) 4, and when the LMA 4 determines as a handover, the LMA 4 instructs a router at a movement source, an MAGa 2 or an MAGb 3 to transfer a buffer from the MAGa 2 to the MAGb 3.

  • Patent number: 8165022
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmitting/receiving method capable of selecting a combination of communication media of the own and its counterpart reflecting the preference of the user or an application for each of flows on communication terminals and capable of doing execution without being known by counterpart the preference information. It presents means for selecting a combination of CoAs (the CoA of the communication counterpart and that of the own) of the Mobile IP referring to the preference information of the application when communication terminals transmit/receive one or more flows (data flows) through one or more paths (communication channels). In consideration of combinations of flows and paths, the score is calculated for the combinations, and transmitted to the counterpart terminal of the communication, the approval is obtained to select the optimum path. As a result, the CoA suitable to the preferences of both parties can be selected for each flow.

  • Patent number: 8014381
Abstract: The present invention provides a communication system and a communication method for linking the switching of a transmission path with the switching of an application according to the change of a communication condition caused by the movement of a user in a mobile environment. A change of the communication condition caused by the movement of the user is always monitored and the transmission path is switched according to the state change of the transmission path. Here, the state of the transmission path between the terminal and the communication counter part terminal is obtained and compared to a priority reference for each of the applications, thereby selecting a transmission path appropriate for the application becomes possible and a service in corresponding to the communication condition can be provided by changing a content to that appropriate for the transmission path, simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20100208691
Abstract: When an MN is handed over from an MAGa to an MAGb, a network-based IP mobility protocol processor of an LMA transmits a header compression information forward command to MAGa, and a network-based IP mobility protocol processor of MAGa transmits header compression information to MAGb. MAGb having received the header compression information stores the information into a storage and performs a compression and extension process of the data associated with MN by referring to the information. In this way, in a network-based IP mobility protocol, even if the MN has moved, the MN or MAG serves as a compressor and decompressor, so that it is possible to save the band for the last one hop, which is the narrowest band.

  • Publication number: 20100177689
Abstract: When an MN 1 is handed over from an MAGa 2 to an MAGb 3, a network-based IP mobility protocol processor 11 of an LMA 4 transmits header compression information to MAGb 3 while a network-based IP mobility protocol processor 7 of MAGb 3 stores the information into a storage 8. When receiving a packet, LMA 4 and MAGb 3 perform a tunneling process or a compression information process for every tunnel through which the packet passes, to perform appropriate compression/extension and routing. In this way, in a network-based IP mobility protocol, even if the MN had moved, the MN or LMA serves as a compressor and decompressor, so that it is possible to save the band for the last one hop, which is the narrowest band.

  • Publication number: 20100172294
Abstract: When a delivery of packets is made between LMA and MN, an options header that enables identification of MN is added between the router (MAG), located between LMA and MN, and LMA so as to achieve appropriate routing. When MN moved, buffer transfer from previous access MAGa to new access MAGb is performed also by adding an options header to make delivery to MN. In this way, in network-based IP mobility protocol, when the mobile terminal (MN) or the control apparatus (LMA) serves as a compressor or decompressor to compress packets, fast handover can be realized when the MN moved, whereby it is possible to save the band for the last one hop, which is the narrowest band.
