Due to the lower airflow resistance that the present invention induces, an exhaust fan or blower with motor of lower torque is adopted. Consequently, the whole air purification is operated at a lower noise level. Lower operational voltage is applicable for the high-voltage electrostatic precipitator device and provides a similar or superior performance and effectiveness for dust removal. The air purification device/system is designed with higher flexibility and of more compact in dimension and size. Dust is removed from the environment by a high voltage electrostatic precipitator. The airflow stream within a high-voltage electrostatic precipitator is such that the direction of the path of the airflow is changed at least twice.

The air purification apparatus comprising: a casing which contains at least one apparatus air inlet and at least one apparatus air outlet; at least one main filter which is being installed at the apparatus air inlet and/or within the casing; at the periphery of the main filter, there locates a primary air flow inlet and a secondary air flow inlet. When a primary air flow is drawn to flow from the upstream to the downstream positions inside the casing, the primary air flow is adapted to pass by at least one edge of the exterior of the main filter, resulting at least two exterior surfaces of the main filter being exerted with different atmospheric pressures. Through the secondary air flow inlet, a secondary air flow is entrained through the main filter and flows from its exterior surface is exerted with higher atmospheric pressure to its exterior surface is exerted with lower atmospheric pressure.

    Abstract: The present invention is an air cleaner that uses molecular sieves, such as zeolite or other microporous/nanoporous crystalline materials with pore sizes ranging from 4 ? to 20 ?, as a filter to remove contaminant gas. The contaminants are adsorbed into the porous material along with ions clusters, or any other oxidant generated by a generating device within the system. The contaminant gas is then catalytically decomposed in the confined space of the pore. In one embodiment, transition metal is incorporated into the porous material, and a heater is installed to substitute or accompany the oxidant-generating device. When the heater is turned on, the contaminant is decomposed within the pores of the materials with the transition metals acting as catalysts. Ultimately, the non-harmful byproducts are the small sized water molecutes and carbon dioxide molecules. Growth of bacteria is also suppressed under a clean and dry condition.
