Abstract: Disclosed is a method of substituting for authentication of subscriber terminals of a mobile communication network for a third party site in a radio mobile communication system, the method including: obtaining traffic information for each subscriber terminal from the mobile communication network to which the subscriber terminals connect; receiving an authentication request for a first subscriber terminal from the third party site that has received a service request of the first subscriber terminal from the mobile communication network; and authenticating, if an IP address of the first subscriber terminal is one of IP addresses of the subscriber terminals contained in the traffic information, the first subscriber terminal using traffic information of the first subscriber terminal, and providing an authentication result to the third party site.

Abstract: There are provided a method and apparatus for performing a login by a Mobile Station (MS) in a wireless communication system. In an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network in a wireless communication system, an MS transmits a temporary login request to an IMS server by using a subscriber identity (ID) as a virtual Private Identity (PRID) and receives information about registered PRIDs that are associated with the subscriber ID. The MS determines whether at least one of PRIDs managed by the MS is unregistered in the IMS server. If at least one of the managed PRIDs is unregistered in the IMS server, the MS performs login to the IMS server using one of the managed PRIDs that is unregistered in the IMS server. If none of the managed PRIDs are unregistered in the IMS server, the MS performs login to the IMS server using one of the managed PRIDs that is registered.

Abstract: A method and system for providing roaming features between an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and a Circuit Switched (CS) network, and an apparatus thereof are provided. Upon receiving an IMS registration request from a roaming MS having roamed to the IMS network, a Roaming Gateway (RGW) performing communication between the IMS network and the CS network sends a request for registration and authentication for the roaming MS to a Home Location Register (HLR) in the CS network. The RGW acquires profile information for the roaming MS in the CS network from the HLR, and delivers the profile information of the roaming MS to an IMS server in the IMS network. The IMS server delivers authentication results to the roaming MS.

A roaming gateway for performing communication between an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) network and a circuit switched (CS) network receives an authentication request for a roaming mobile station (MS), which roams from an IMS network to a CS network, from a mobile service center (MSC) of the CS network, acquires authentication information for the roaming MS and service information for services, with which the roaming MS has been provided from the IMS network, at the authentication request, checks if the roaming MS is entitled to use the services according to the service information by using the authentication information and the service information, and sends an authentication success message to the MSC when the roaming MS is entitled to use the services.

Abstract: A system and method provide calling and called terminals with multimedia alerting signals such as a ringtone and ringback tone. When desiring to receive first multimedia portal contents as a multimedia alerting signal, the calling terminal presets the first multimedia portal contents and makes a call connection setup request. When desiring to provide second multimedia portal contents as a ringback tone, a called terminal presets the second multimedia portal contents and notifies that the ringtone and ringback tone are set. A Personal Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Portal (PIP) server receives call connection setup-related signals from the calling and called terminals, decides to provide particular multimedia portal contents as the ringback tone according to a predefined priority decision criterion when the calling and called terminals set the multimedia portal contents, and provides the set multimedia portal contents.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a service in a user-selected communication mode in an IP multimedia communication system are provided. In a method of providing a service between a calling terminal and a called terminal in a communication system including a plurality of calling and called terminals and a network server, the calling terminal transmits a request message containing predetermined information for a call connection to the called terminal. The called terminal analyzes the information of the request message and transmitting a response message containing accept information for the request message to the calling terminal. The calling and called terminals perform bi-directional communications by changing a current communication mode in response to the response message.

A calling mobile terminal (MT) encodes a session initiate protocol (SIP) invite message comprising multimedia alerting information and transmitting the encoded SIP invite message.
