Abstract: An example embodiment relates to a computer-implemented method for sending medical image data to a cloud storage system, comprising obtaining, at an edge system, medical image data and a storage request from a medical system, the storage request requesting storage of the medical image data, the medical system and the edge system being parts of a local network; storing the medical image data in an incoming cache of the edge system; sending, by the edge system, a storage response to the medical system via the local network, the storage response indicating that the storage request for the medical image data is accepted; and sending the medical image data from the incoming cache to a cloud storage system, the cloud storage system being separated from the local network, the sending of the medical image data to the cloud storage system being decoupled from the sending of the storage response.

Abstract: A method for sharing data between customer institutions participating in a digital health platform, comprises: providing at least one data compartment to store data of an application of a source institution; selecting a data compartment by a first user of the source institution to generate a data compartment sharing request for sharing the selected data compartment with a target institution; notifying a second user of the target institution about the data compartment sharing request; approving or rejecting, by the second user, the data compartment sharing request; notifying the first user about the approval or rejection of the data compartment sharing request by the second user; and providing access to the data stored in the selected data compartment to the target institution based on approval of the data compartment sharing request by the second user.

In an embodiment, the method includes receiving the medical data set from a medical system, the medical system and the processing system being parts of a local network. The method furthermore includes initializing the at least one edge application based on a cloud-based application, the cloud-based application being stored within a cloud system and the cloud system being separated from the local network. The at least one edge application is a software application executable by the processing system. Abstract: Systems and methods for sharing medical data sets are provided. An embodiment of the method includes: receiving medical data sets from a medical system; receiving associated information from a database separated from the medical system, the associated information providing information associated to the medical data sets; uploading the medical data sets to a cloud platform; processing the associated information and the medical data sets to identify one or more entitled users, the entitled users being entitled to access a respective medical data set; retrieving additional user information of the entitled users; and granting the entitled users access to the respective medical data set in the cloud platform based upon the additional user information.
