  • Patent number: 8057772
Abstract: Disclosed are mesoporous silica particles and a preparation method thereof, particularly, a method of preparing mesoporous silica particles, including mixing a silica precursor, an alkylamine-based surfactant, and a phosphoric acid-based cosurfactant, thus preparing a mixture solution (a mother liquor); adding or not adding the mixture solution with an acid solution, and conducting stirring, thus providing mesoporous silica particles; and thermally treating the mesoporous silica particles. These mesoporous silica particles are prepared using a phosphoric acid-based cosurfactant for stabilizing the surface of the particles to prevent the aggregation thereof, thereby uniformly distributing the particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 2007
Date of Patent: November 15, 2011
Assignee: Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute
Inventors: Jong-Yun Kim, Suk Bon Yoon, Yong-Joon Park, Myung Ho Lee, Kwang-Yong Jee

  • Patent number: 7157402
Abstract: The present invention provides a bimodal porous carbon capsule with a hollow core and a mesoporous shell structure, which can be employed as an electrocatalyst support for a fuel cell; electrocatalysts for the fuel cell using the bimodal porous carbon capsule, and a method of preparing the same. The electrocatalyst according to the present invention has higher catalysis activity as compared with the Pt—Ru or Pt catalyst supported by the conventional carbon black, so that the performance of the fuel cell is enhanced, and it can be easily prepared in an aqueous solution state. According to the present invention, the porous carbon support employed as the support for the catalyst has excellent conductivity and a high surface area, so that the loaded catalyst can be prepared with a smaller amount than that of the conventional carbon black.

  • Publication number: 20060051312
Abstract: Disclosed is a carbon nanoball for deodorization composed of a circular hollow core, and a porous carbon shell to which at least one deodorizing material selected from the group consisting of transition metal, oxidized transition metal and alkali metal salt is adhered. The porous carbon shell of the carbon nanoball for deodorization has multi layers more than 2 layers having different pore sizes, and a pore formed in an outer layer has a larger average diameter than a pore formed in an inner layer. This multi-layered carbon nanoball for deodorization may absorb various kinds of stink-generating materials together with good deodorizing capability. Thus, the multi-layered carbon nanoball may give excellent deodorizing effects by capturing and dissolving stinky substances when it used as a deodorant for various stinky daily necessaries or in houses, offices, industrial facilities and other various stink-causing circumstances.
