The electric device includes: a display unit; a receiving unit configured to receive paper; a sensing unit configured to detect at least one of a state of the received paper and a state of user's handwriting input to the received paper; and a controller configured to display a result value calculated based on the detection of the sensing unit on the display unit. A state of paper or a state of handwriting input to the paper is detected and a corresponding result value is displayed on the display unit, thus improving emotional quality of the electric device.
