Abstract: A phone book group management method includes: providing a display field for entering a contact name and a group name of a phone book; receiving a contact name and at least one group name consecutively in the display field; analyzing the received contact name and at least one group name; and registering contact information in a group according to the analyzed contact name and at least one group name. A new group may be created while registering a contact name in a phone book or while editing phone book data of a registered contact. Accordingly, the procedure for registering a contact may be simplified, and management of user groups may be executed more easily and efficiently.

Abstract: A data recovery method and system for a mobile device which is capable of selectively recovering data deleted by a user is provided. The data recovery method of the present invention includes assigning a portion of a memory as a data recovery region, creating recovery lists, each comprising a recovery time and recovery volume, storing data deleted from the memory into the data recovery region on the basis of the recovery lists, displaying the data recovery lists when a data recovery is requested, and recovering the deleted data from the data recovery region when the a data to be recovered is selected from the recovery lists. The data recovery method of the present invention makes it possible to recover the data deleted intentionally or accidentally in the mobile device.

Abstract: A voice notifying service system and a service providing method are provided for a mobile terminal, wherein the voice notifying service system includes a mobile communication system and a mobile terminal for forming a communication channel with the mobile communication system, transmitting voice information, the voice information including a voice and a notifying function for playing the voice, to the mobile communication system, transmitting time information to the mobile communication system specifying the time at which the voice information is to be transmitted to the mobile terminal, and playing the voice information when received from the mobile communication system at the time specified in the time information.

Abstract: A method for providing a digital compass function and a portable terminal adapted to the method are disclosed. The cardinal points, north, south, east and west, are calculated based on the celestial body, such as the sun, the moon, a constellation, a particular star, etc. using the current time information and information of a location where the portable terminal is currently located. The direction of Mecca is calculated based on the calculated cardinal points and the current location information and displayed on the display unit.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and composite photographing method using multiple mobile terminals are provided. The composite photographing method uses multiple mobile terminals. A master mobile terminal composes an incomplete composite photograph, generates a participant list of slave mobile terminals, and sends the incomplete composite photograph and participant list to a first slave mobile terminal in the participant list. The first slave mobile terminal receives the incomplete composite photograph and participant list, further composes the received composite photograph, determines whether the composed composite photograph is complete, sends, when the composed composite photograph is incomplete, the composed composite photograph to a second slave mobile terminal in the participant list, and sends, when the composed composite photograph is complete, the composed composite photograph to all mobile terminals having participated in composite photographing.
