An input associated with a content item delivery service is received at a computing device. A capture of a user is received, and a digital representation of the user is generated based on the capture of the user. A posture of the user is determined based on the digital representation of the user, and a content item genre is identified based on the determined posture. A content item recommendation that is based on the identified genre is generated and output.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling verbal interaction with an NLUI application without relying on express wake terms. The NLUI application receives an audio input comprising a plurality of terms. In response to determining that none of the terms is an express wake term pre-programmed into the NLUI application, the NLUI application determines a topic for the plurality of terms. The NLUI application then determines whether the topic is within a plurality of topics for which a response should be generated. If the determined topic of the audio input is within the plurality of topics, the NLUI application generates a response to the audio input.

A user profile is accessed at a computing device, and a session type associated with consumption of at least a content item of a plurality of content items is determined based on the user profile. The content item banner is generated for display.

Transcriptions of utterances is received and identifications to the transcriptions are assigned. In response to receiving an indication of an erroneous transcribed utterance in at least one of the transcriptions, an audio receiver is automatically activated for receiving a second utterance. In response to receiving the second utterance, an audio file of the second utterance and a corresponding identification of the erroneous transcribed utterance are transmitted to a speech recognition system for a second transcription, and the erroneous transcribed utterance is replaced with the second transcription.

An electronic timeline of volume levels of currently playing content is made available to a smart speaker. From this timeline, periods of high content volume are determined, and the smart speaker alerts users during periods of high volume, requesting that they wait until the high-volume period has passed before issuing voice commands. In this manner, the smart speaker helps prevent voice commands that may not be detected, or may be detected inaccurately, due to the noise of the content currently being played.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a second content item on identifying an event in a first content item. A first content item is received, and the first content item is monitored to identify a change in a factor associated with the first content item. It is determined whether the change in factor is greater than a threshold value. Based on the change in the factor, an event is identified in the first content item. A second content item is generated, wherein the second content item is based on the identified event in the first content item. The first content item and a user interface element are generated for display at a computing device, wherein the user interface element is configured to receive an input and is associated with the second content item. In response to receiving an input, the second content item is generated for output.

In response to receiving a second request from the user to perform an operation related to the media asset (e.g., delete), the media guidance application prompts the user for an additional factor confirming his or her identity, consistent with two-factor authentication protocol. If the user's identity is authenticated as a user that has authority to perform the operation related to the media asset (e.g., delete the stored media asset), the media guidance application performs the operation related to the media asset (e.g., deletes the media asset).

Abstract: Systems and methods for searching, identifying, scoring, and providing access to companion media assets for a primary media asset are disclosed. In response to a request for companion content, metadata within a predefined time period of a play position when the request was made, is downloaded. A dynamic search template that contains search parameters based on the downloaded metadata is generated. In response to the search conducted using the search template, a plurality of companion media assets are identified and then verified. A trust score for the companion media asset is accessed. The trust score may be analyzed and modified based on its contextual relationship to the play position of the primary media asset. If the trust score is within a rating range, then a link to access the companion media asset, or a specific segment or play position within the companion media asset, is provided.

The system accesses a user profile comprising a user’s proficiency level in at least one secondary language, the secondary language being their non-native language. A command to replay a first portion of a content item is received and, in response to receiving the replay command, the system generates for display the first portion of the content item at a level below the user’s proficiency level in the secondary language.
