  • Publication number: 20070151458
Abstract: This invention provides a brewing head unit of a coffee machine for easily inserting or removing the filter (15) and locking the filter and the filter holder (17) into the brewing head of a coffee machine to form a water-and pressure tight connection. The filter and the filter holder can be inserted into the coffee machine of the present invention visually. This invention also provides a cabinet filter holder which can be inserted or placed into the brewing head assembly or unit of a coffee machine by sliding the filter holder into the brewing head unit from the front, to or side or by swinging the filter holder, which is movable attached to the brewing head assembly or unit on a pivot, into the coffee machine. This invention further provides a brewing head assembly or unit, wherein the locking mechanism (13, 20) for placing or orienting the filter holder and securing the filter holder to the brewing head assembly or unit is motor-driven.

  • Publication number: 20060137534
Abstract: This invention pertains to a brewing head assembly of a coffee machine that enables easy insertion and removal of the filter as well as locking of the filter and the filter holder into the brewing head to form a water-tight seal under pressure. The filter holder can be inserted into the brewing head assembly by sliding the filter holder into the brewing head assembly from the front, top, or side or by swinging the filter holder, which may be pivotally-attached to the brewing head assembly, into the coffee machine. The locking mechanism for inserting and securing the filter holder to the brewing head assembly may be motor-driven. Additionally, the motorized method for opening/closing and locking/unlocking the brewing head assembly may be operated by remote control. Furthermore, the boiler or heating system is may be maintained separately from the brewing head assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050172821
Abstract: This invention provides a locking device sustaining high pressure in a coffee maker which comprises a brew head assembly which comprises: a slide assembly, a sealing assembly, and a pop-up and roll-back assembly, operatively linked to sustain pressure up to four (4) bars. Additionally, this invention provides a method for one-hand operation of the locking device of a coffee maker comprising steps of: a) Pushing the lever inward, causing the push rod to push the slider inward, engaging the cams and corresponding recesses, or alternatively, the slider will move inward, turning the rotatable locking hooks into their corresponding recesses so the brew head is locked; b) Pulling the lever outward, causing the push rod that is assembled on the slider to pull the slider outward so that the brew head is released; and c) after releasing the lock, the lift platform will pop up, assisted by the lift platform spring and the lid mount will roll-back, assisted by the hinge spring.

Abstract: This invention provides a brewing head unit of a coffee machine for inserting and locking the filter and the filter holder into the brewing head of a coffee machine. The filter and the filter holder can be inserted into the coffee machine visually. This invention further provides a simpler and easier method for inserting filter holder into a pressurized coffee machine. This invention also provides a cabinet filter holder which can be inserted or placed into the brewing head assembly/unit of a coffee machine by sliding the filter holder into the brewing head unit from front or side; by swinging the filter holder into the brewing head assembly/unit on a pivot; or by inserting the filter holder from the top. This invention further provides a brewing head assembly/unit wherein the locking mechanism is motor-driven. In one aspect of this invention, the method for opening and closing the brewing head assembly/unit of the coffee machine can be operated by remote control.
