  • Publication number: 20240111422
Abstract: A method of operating a solid state drive (SSD) is provided. The method includes generating, by a controller provided in the SSD, a free block list indicating a plurality of free super blocks, wherein adjacent free super blocks of the plurality of free super blocks correspond to different dies of a plurality of dies provided in the SSD; and allocating, by the controller, a free super block from among the plurality of free super blocks indicated by the free block list for each of a host write operation and a garbage collection write operation, according to a sequence of the plurality of free super blocks indicated by the free block list.

  • Patent number: 11941252
Abstract: Provided are methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable storage media for reducing an open time of a solid-state drive (SSD). In an embodiment, a method includes dividing a logical-to-physical (L2P) address mapping table of the SSD into a plurality of segments. The method further includes assigning one journal buffer of a plurality of journal buffers to each segment of the plurality of segments. The method further includes recreating, during a power on sequence of the SSD, a portion of the plurality of segments by replaying a first subset of the plurality of journal buffers. The method further includes sending, to a host device, a device-ready signal upon successful recreation of the portion of the plurality of segments. The method further includes recreating, in a background mode, a remaining portion of the plurality of segments by replaying a second subset of the plurality of journal buffers.

  • Publication number: 20230224294
Abstract: We propose a method of authenticating a client device with a provider. The method includes receiving an authentication request from the client device at an authentication server. The method includes sending a challenge to a hardware-based security module of the client device based on the authentication request. The method includes receiving a response to the challenge and identifying the provider corresponding to the authentication request. The method includes authenticating the client device with the provider based on the authentication request and the response to the challenge.

  • Patent number: 11233633
Abstract: Method and system of secured direct link set-up (DLS) for wireless networks. In accordance with aspects of the method, techniques are disclosed for setting up computationally secure direct links between stations in a wireless network in a manner that is computationally secure. A direct link comprising a new communication session is set up between first and second stations in a wireless local area network (WLAN) hosted by an access point (AP), the direct link comprising a new communication session. The AP generates a unique session key for the new communication session and transfers secured copies of the session key to each of the first and second stations in a manner under which only the first and second stations can obtain the session key. A security mechanism is then implemented on the unsecured direct link to secure the direct link between the first and second stations using a secure session key derived from the session key.

  • Patent number: 10462121
Abstract: Technologies for remote device authentication include a client computing device, an identity provider, and an application server in communication over a network. The identity provider sends an authentication challenge to the client. A capability proxy of the client intercepts an authentication challenge response and retrieves one or more security assertions from a secure environment of the client computing device. The capability proxy may be an embedded web server providing an HTTP interface to platform features of the client. The client sends a resource access token based on the security assertions to the identity provider. The identity provider verifies the resource access token and authenticates the client computing device based on the resource access token in addition to user authentication factors such as username and password. The identity provider sends an authentication response to the client, which forwards the authentication response to the application server.

  • Patent number: 10341117
Abstract: Techniques for enabling cloud authentication of Layer 2-connected member devices via an IP-connected active device are provided. In one set of embodiments, the member device can transmit, to the active device, a request to authenticate the member device with a cloud management platform. The member device can further receive, from the active device, an encrypted nonce generated by the cloud management platform in response to the request, where the encrypted nonce is encrypted using a public key of the member device. The member device can decrypt the encrypted nonce using a private key of the member device to generate a decrypted nonce and can transmit the decrypted nonce to the active device. The member device can then receive, from the active device, a token generated by the cloud management platform indicating that the member device has been authenticated by the platform.
