  • Patent number: 6590312
Abstract: A rotary electric machine for a hybrid vehicle includes a rotor connected between a vehicle engine and a torque transmission mechanism at the back of the vehicle engine and a stator. The rotor includes an outer rotor portion having an inner surface electro-magnetically connected to the outer surface of the stator, an inner rotor portion having an outer surface electro-magnetically connected to the inner surface of the stator. The stator includes a stator core disposed between the inner rotor portion and the outer rotor portion and a multi-phase winding wound on the stator to be electro-magnetically connected with both the outer and inner rotor portions.

  • Patent number: 5955807
Abstract: A synchronous electric machine includes a stator having an armature winding, a rotor having axially laminated magnetic sheets and a field coil, a plurality of permanent magnets disposed in the rotor to form N-pole and S-pole on the outer circumference of the rotor, and ribs and pins magnetically bypassing the N-poles and S-poles of the permanent magnets. The pins also attach the laminated magnetic sheets together as a unit. The rotor has a plurality of axially extending holes on its circumference for accommodating permanent magnets.

  • Patent number: 4881414
Abstract: A torque detection apparatus for measuring a torque applied between a drive shaft and an output shaft which is applicable to an electric power steering system of a motor vehicle. The torque detection apparatus is provided between the drive and output shafts and comprises first and second rotating bodies which are respectively at one end portions coupled fixedly to the drive and output shafts, the first rotating body being rotatable in accordance with rotation of the drive shaft and the second rotating body being rotatable in accordance with rotation of said output shaft. The first and second rotating bodies are shaped cylindrically and the first rotating body has on its outer circumferential surface magnetic toothed portions and the second rotating body has on its inner circumferential surface magnetic toothed portions.

  • Patent number: 4701692
Abstract: A rectifying system for a magnet-type AC generator comprises a rectifier circuit including a composite bridge of a plurality of diodes and a plurality of thyristors for regulating and rectifying the output voltage of the AC generator, a first phase control circuit for applying a firing signal to the thyristors, a neutral-point diode, a neutral-point thyristor, and a second phase control circuit for controlling the phase of the neutral-point thyristor. The neutral-point thyristor is phase-controlled, and the voltage applied to a battery with an electrode thereof connected to the diodes is thereby regulated.

  • Patent number: 4641066
Abstract: A control apparatus detects a suitable starting point during rotational oscillation of a rotor at the start of a brushless motor by combining the polarity of a counter electromotive force generated in an armature coil of an armature winding of the brushless motor for a nonexcited phase due to the rotational oscillation of the rotor (when armature coils for particular phases are excited at the start of the brushless motor) with the pulse edge of an excitation switchover signal obtained from the potential of a neutral point of the armature winding having the armature coils connected in star-connection and that of a neutral point of a detecting resistance circuit having resistors connected in star-connection. Each of the resistors of the resistance circuit is arranged in parallel with a corresponding one of the armature coils the armature winding.
