  • Publication number: 20260154128
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using subsystem metrics to dynamically adjust the bandwidth (BW) scaling factor used when voting for BW needs based on the BW of monitored traffic. For a CPU core, for example, it can be inefficient to use a static BW scaling factor when other core metrics provide extra information that can improve power consumption efficiency without degrading performance or user experience. Dynamically adjusting or selecting the BW scaling factor based on metrics is more efficient than using a static scaling factor and can result in greater efficiency in terms of achieving lower power consumption without degrading performance or user experience.

  • Publication number: 20260020081
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for power saving in ultra-wide band (UWB) enabled connected devices. Some aspects more specifically relate to an authentication procedure at collocated devices. In some examples, a first wireless device may communicate via a first radio access technology (RAT) with a second device that is collocated with the first wireless device. The first wireless device may be capable of communicating with a third wireless device via a second RAT. The first wireless device may transmit, via the first RAT, a message to the second device that is indicative of a first status of communications between the first wireless device and the third wireless device via the second RAT. In some examples, the second wireless device may change a second status of communications between the second wireless device and the third wireless device based on reception of the message.

  • Publication number: 20250365558
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless device may transmit a first ultra-wideband (UWB) ranging signal. The first wireless device may receive a first UWB response from a second wireless device. The first wireless device may transmit an indication to enable do-not-disturb on the second wireless device based at least in part on a first determination, from the first UWB response, that the second wireless device is in a driver area of a vehicle. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20250217181
Abstract: Thermal-aware interrupting routing in an interrupt controller in processor-based systems, and related methods are disclosed. The processor-based system includes one or more interrupt controllers that are each configured to prioritize interrupts received from components in the processor-based system and direct each received interrupt to a CPU core(s) in its designated processor to perform an interrupt service routine (ISR) to process the interrupt. To avoid or reduce the likelihood of the interrupt controller directing an interrupt to a CPU core(s) and/or CPU core cluster(s) that may exceed its thermal limit by accepting and handling the interrupt, the interrupt controller is configured to be aware of temperatures of the CPU cores and/or the CPU core clusters in its designated processor. The interrupt controller is configured to selectively route received interrupts based on temperature of the CPU core(s) and/or their CPU core cluster(s) that were determined eligible to receive and handle the interrupt.

  • Publication number: 20250175697
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for power control of a computing device including an image sensor. An example method includes receiving, from an application running on the computing device, a camera close call; receiving, from the application, an indication of the context of the camera close call; and based on the context of the camera close call, setting an operation mode of at least one of the processor or the bus.

  • Publication number: 20250086746
Abstract: Optimizing compositor workload in steady state in processor devices is disclosed herein. In some aspects, a processor device is configured to perform image compositing by executing a compositor pipeline that comprises a compositor including a workload handler; a composer Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL); a workload governor communicatively coupled to the composer HAL; and a display driver. The workload governor detects that the image compositing has entered a steady state, and transmits an indication to enter an accelerated mode to the workload handler. Upon receiving the indication, the workload handler places the compositor pipeline in the accelerated mode. While in the accelerated mode, the compositor transmits accelerated mode data directly to the display driver, bypassing the composer HAL.

  • Publication number: 20250030936
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for an adaptive camera preview frame rate. For example, a computing device can compare a current image frame of a scene with a previous image frame of the scene. The computing device can determine whether the scene comprises an idle scene scenario based on comparing the current image frame with the previous image frame.

  • Patent number: 12032426
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable mediums may be used in portable computing devices (PCDs) for dynamically allocating system resources in a way that prevents or lessens degradation of power and performance KPIs while also avoiding temperature increases in the PCD that can create unpleasant user experiences. A smart resource allocation framework (SRAF) is triggered when a call is received or placed. Once triggered, the SRAF framework monitors a preselected set of state conditions to determine whether or not to place the wireless modem in a modem power-performance (Mod. Pow.-Perf) mode. If it determines that modem is to be placed in the Mod. Pow.-Perf. mode, a Mod. Pow.-Perf. process is performed dynamically allocates system resources and preferably also triggers a thermal framework that performs power reduction in one or more non-modem processing cores.
