  • Publication number: 20130102722
Abstract: A rubber composition for a tire, and a pneumatic tire are provided in which the fuel economy, abrasion resistance, and deterioration resistance can be improved in a good balance. The present invention relates to a rubber composition for a tire, containing a rubber component that contains: a modified natural rubber having a phosphorus content of not more than 200 ppm; and butadiene rubber, wherein 60 to 95% by mass of the modified natural rubber and 5 to 40% by mass of the butadiene rubber are contained based on 100% by mass of the rubber component.

  • Publication number: 20130092302
Abstract: A heavy duty tire comprises a tread portion provided with belt plies and circumferentially-extending main grooves, wherein a shoulder rib area between the axially outermost shoulder main groove and a tread edge is subdivided by a sub groove into an axially inner main rib zone and an axially outer sub rib zone. The main rib zone is provided with a high elastic modulus rubber layer extending along the axially outer edge of the main rib zone to form a part of the tread face and made of rubber having an elastic-modulus higher than that of rubber forming the tread face except for said part of the tread face. The axial width (W1a) of the high elastic modulus rubber layer is 0.3 to 0.6 times the axial width (W1) of the main rib zone.

  • Publication number: 20130090901
Abstract: Computerized analysis method for estimating a kneaded state of a fluid, comprises: a step of generating a finite element model of a kneading space within which the fluid is kneaded; a step of defining a model of the fluid; a step of defining the fluid model in the kneading space model at a filling rate of less than 100% and defining necessary kneading conditions; a particle tracking step in which, a flow calculation of the fluid model is made, and virtual particles disposed in the fluid model are tracked; an estimating step in which the positional data of the virtual particles are compared with those in an ideal kneaded state of the fluid model, and the degree of kneading of the fluid model is calculated. The ideal kneaded state is calculated in the estimating step, based on existence positions of the fluid model calculated in the particle tracking step.

  • Publication number: 20130075010
Abstract: There is provided a rubber composition for a bead apex which can enhance extrusion processability by optimizing a rate of vulcanization during a vulcanization process, and can improve rigidity, steering stability and a low fuel consumption property, a tire having a bead apex prepared by using the rubber composition for a bead apex and being capable of enhancing steering stability and reducing rolling resistance and a tire for a sports utility vehicle (SUV) having further enhanced durability. The rubber composition for a bead apex comprises a diene rubber, a phenol resin and/or a modified phenol resin, sulfur, hexamethylenetetramine, a vulcanization accelerator, and at least one kind of vulcanization acceleration auxiliary selected from the group consisting of a citraconimide compound, a condensate of alkyl phenol and sulfur chloride, an organic thiosulfate compound and a compound represented by the general formula: R1—S—S-A-S—S—R2.

  • Publication number: 20130025759
Abstract: A tire pair 2 for a motorcycle includes a front tire 6 and a rear tire 8. A difference (F15?R15) between a camber thrust index F15 of the front tire 6 and a camber thrust index R15 of the rear tire 8 at a camber angle of 15° is equal to or greater than ?0.038 and is equal to or smaller than 0.038. A difference (F30?R30) between a camber thrust index F30 of the front tire 6 and a camber thrust index R30 of the rear tire 8 at a camber angle of 30° is equal to or greater than 0.038 and is equal to or smaller than 0.114. The camber thrust index F30 at the camber angle of 30° is equal to or greater than 0.570. A difference (F45?R45) between a camber thrust index F45 of the front tire 6 and a camber thrust index R45 of the rear tire 8 at a camber angle of 45° is equal to or greater than 0.076 and is equal to or smaller than 0.228.
