Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for detecting a reception error in a data service by inserting an error detection packet between data service data packets. A data storage medium on which an error detection packet structure is recorded for a data service of digital audio broadcast (DAB) includes at least one address information about a channel through which the data service is provided and error detection data corresponding to the address information. The address information and the error detection data are recorded in a packet data field in packet-mode data for the data service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for interactively using additional data in digital audio broadcasting. The method of interactively using additional data includes: receiving additional data and storing the received additional data in a specified database; receiving a user input via a user input interface obtained by decoding information regarding a screen composition contained in service data, transforming the user input into a query that requests a search of the database, and outputting the query; and searching the database in response to the query and outputting a result of the searching.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving information regarding the displaying of a service in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) receiver via a fast information channel and for controlling the displaying of the service on the DAB receiver are provided. The method includes receiving a digital audio broadcasting transmission frame and parsing information regarding a sub channel and a service component related to a service selected by a user, and obtaining information required to display the selected service by parsing information from a channel that is differentiated from a data service channel. Accordingly, it is possible to display various types of services regardless of the DAB receiver used, thereby allowing effective use of a user interface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing and searching a broadcasting stream, the method having operations of: storing a broadcasting stream received during a predetermined period; extracting information from the received broadcasting stream indicating a content of the received broadcasting stream; constructing a database based on the extracted information; displaying the information indicating the content of the stored broadcasting stream based on the database; and searching a broadcasting stream corresponding to select information from the stored broadcasting stream when the select information, selected on the basis of the information to be displayed, is received, wherein the database includes link information about the stored broadcasting stream.

Abstract: Provided are a method of transmitting digital broadcasts, a method and apparatus for controlling the display of digital broadcasting, and a computer-readable recording medium on which a program executing the controlling method is recorded. The method of controlling the display of digital broadcasting includes receiving an ensemble comprising at least one advertising channel and controlling so that advertisements transmitted via at least one of the advertising channels included in the received ensemble are compulsorily displayed. In this method, since digital broadcasting makes it possible to display a plurality of services, an advertising service can be displayed compulsorily, thereby delivering maximum advertising effects to a broadcasting service provider and providing digital broadcasting services to viewers at lower prices.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding multimedia object transfer (MOT) data, wherein the method includes receiving an MOT object composed of real data and metadata containing information regarding the real data and an MOT directory including the metadata and decoding the real data included in the MOT object using the metadata included in the MOT object or the metadata included in the MOT directory. In the method and apparatus, as a broadcasting service, a large media metafile is transmitted in an error-proof and time-saving way. Therefore, a receiving side can decode the large media metafile without errors, and randomly access and render it in real time.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for automatically selecting a service appropriate to a user according to the physiological state of the user. The method of automatically selecting a service that is received from the user terminal, according to the result of measured physiological information of the user, includes measuring physiological information of the user determining the physiological state of the user based on the measured physiological information if a user input is not entered for a predetermined period of time selecting one service from among a plurality of services being received and performing operations corresponding to the selected service according to a determined physiological state and updating previously stored physiological information by reflecting the measured physiological information in the previously stored physiological information.

Abstract: A method, medium, and apparatus for storing and displaying slide show data in response to a user command input via user interface. The method includes receiving the slide show data according to a predetermined protocol, parsing display screen construction information contained in the received slide show data and storing the slide show data according to the display screen construction information, and when a user command is given, searching for the stored slide show data and executing the user command. Accordingly, it is possible to review or store slide show data that was displayed via user interface, thereby enabling an interaction with a user.
