    Abstract: An instruction compressing apparatus and method for a parallel processing computer such as a very long instruction word (VLIW) computer, are provided. The instruction compressing apparatus includes a bundle code generating unit, an instruction compressing unit, and an instruction converting unit. The bundle code generating unit may generate a bundle code in response to an input of instructions to be compressed. The bundle code may indicate whether a current instruction group is terminated, and also whether an instruction group following the current instruction group is a no-operation (NOP) instruction group. The instruction compressing unit may remove a NOP instruction and/or a NOP instruction group from the input instructions according to the generated bundle code. The instruction converting unit may include the generated bundle code in the remaining instructions which have not been removed by the instruction compressing unit.

    Abstract: An arginine-grafted bioreducible poly(disulfide amine) (“ABP”) as a reagent for efficient and nontoxic gene delivery is described. ABP forms positively charged nano-particles of less than 200 nm with siRNA. ABP is biodegraded under reducing conditions, such as in the cytoplasm. ABP exhibits much higher transfection efficiency than polyethyleneimine in mammalian cells and exhibits no cytotoxicity. ABP is an effective delivery vehicle for gene silencing with siRNA and may be used for treating cancer.

An interconnection line is disposed in a predetermined region of the encapsulation substrate corresponding to a portion of the substrate on which no interconnection lines are disposed. Alternatively, a common power supply line is disposed only on the encapsulation substrate. As a result, a dead space in a display region of the substrate can be reduced so that other lines can be disposed in an interconnection line region of the substrate, and the display region can be further expanded. Also, since a wide interconnection line can be disposed on the encapsulation substrate, line resistance is decreased and a voltage drop can be reduced.

The siRNA-hydrophilic polymer conjugates and polyelectrolyte complex micelles derived therefrom can be used for improving stability of the siRNA molecules in vivo. Consequently, the delivery of siRNA molecules for therapeutic applications into cells can be facilitated, and the siRNA is still active even though a small dose of the siRNA is used.
