    Abstract: The present invention relates to a clothing treatment apparatus, in which a steam generator for generating steam includes a first heater and a second heater having higher power consumption than the first heater, and a method for controlling same. The first heater and the second heater can be simultaneously operated to heat water and generate steam. After the steam is generated, only one of the first heater or the second heater can be operated to supply the steam to the inner case, or one of the first heater or the second heater can be operated simultaneously with a compressor.
