    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing machine-type communication. The disclosed systems include a cellular network with a intermediary point that communicates with an application entity and machine-type communication (MTC) devices. The intermediary point can retrieve connection information for devices with low-power wide-area modems from a non-transitory memory of the augmented cellular network. The intermediary point can also provide the retrieved connection information to application entities.
