Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE is connected to a wireless network on a first carrier frequency in a first frequency range that is associated with a lower data rate than a second carrier frequency in a second frequency range. In some aspects, the first frequency range may be associated with a first version of a radio access technology (RAT) and the second frequency range may be associated with a second version of the RAT. The UE may determine a bandwidth metric associated with the first carrier frequency in the first frequency range. The UE may display a first visual indicator associated with the first version of the RAT or a second visual indicator associated with the second version of the RAT based on the bandwidth metric. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20220217042
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

  • Patent number: 10178561
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to enhancing data communication performance in a wireless communication network including a first subscription associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second subscription associated with a second RAT, where the wireless communication device uses a same radio frequency (RF) resource to communicate over both the first RAT and the second RAT. The first RAT is used, in part, for data operations while the second RAT is used, in part, for voice operations. During idle state voice operations, the RF resource is reallocated from performing data operations to performing idle state voice operations, causing interruptions in the data operations. The wireless communication device adjusts at least one or a duration and an occurrence of the idle state voice operations to reduce the impact on the data operations.

  • Patent number: 9749946
Abstract: The present disclosure presents a method and apparatus for improved reselection during mode transitions at a user equipment (UE). For example, the disclosure presents a method for identifying that a user equipment (UE) has started switching from a first priority scheduling mode to a second priority scheduling mode while making measurements for reselection. In addition, such an example method, may include initiating a mode transition timer in response to the identification and triggering a search for one or more frequencies of the second priority scheduling mode upon expiration of the mode transition timer. As such, an improved reselection during mode transitions at UE may be achieved.
