Abstract: A display apparatus is disclosed, the display apparatus including: a signal receiver configured to receive a first image signal and a second image signal; a signal processor configured to process the received first and second image signals; and a display panel configured to display a first image based on the processed first image signal and a second image based on the processed second image signal, the display panel including: a liquid crystal layer driven to selectively transmit light based on the first image signal and the second image signal; a first backlight unit arranged at a first side of the liquid crystal layer, and configured to provide light entering the first side of the liquid crystal layer and exiting a first area on a second side opposite the first side of the liquid crystal layer to display the first image signal; and a second backlight unit arranged at the second side of the liquid crystal layer, and configured to provide light entering the second side of the liquid crystal layer and exiting
