Abstract: A liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the same are disclosed in the present invention. The device includes first and second substrates bonded to each other, each having a liquid crystal display panel region divided into an active area and a dummy area, a sealant in a periphery of the liquid crystal display panel region bonding the first and second substrates to each other, at least one column spacer both in the dummy area and outside the liquid crystal display panel region maintaining a cell gap between the first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.
