Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-hepatitis B virus (HBV) composition containing ciclopirox or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating an HBV-induced disease, which contains ciclopirox or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a method for treating an HBV-induced disease, which includes a step of administering the pharmaceutical composition to a subject; and a health functional food composition for preventing or improving an HBV-induced disease, which contains ciclopirox or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention has newly elucidated the HBV-inhibiting effect of ciclopirox, and overcame the problem of the existing drugs that cccDNA cannot be removed by monotherapy. In addition, the present invention provides a therapeutic agent capable of effectively inhibiting HBV by inhibiting core assembly during the life cycle of the virus.
