  • Patent number: 8194127
Abstract: The present invention makes a privacy protection area set on a video frame always match a masking block for the privacy protection area, thereby preventing video images taken from the privacy protection area from being exposed. One embodiment of the invention sets a masking zone corresponding to a privacy protection area on a taken video frame, keeps examining if the set masking zone does not match the privacy protection area, and adjusts the position of the masking zone on the video frame if it is determined that the masking zone does not match the privacy protection area, thereby preventing video signals taken from the initially set privacy protection area from being outputted.

  • Patent number: 7973821
Abstract: A method for controlling a masking block in a monitoring camera. The method adjusts the masking block to precisely hide an image of a subject with its position and size changed when a zoom magnification is changed under a state where the masking block is set. In addition, the method adjusts a masking block to precisely hide a changed image of a subject when the monitoring camera is rotated to change the position of the image of the subject. In addition, the method measures and corrects a distance between a center axis of a CCD and an optical axis of a lens if the two axes are not coincident with each other. In addition, the method corrects an offset occurring due to an incorrect coupling between the monitor camera and a pan/tilter. Furthermore, a method for setting a masking block when a remotely uncontrollable monitoring camera is used is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7817190
Abstract: An imaging processing device and method where, when areas having a luminance difference set by a user, for example, 45 dB or more, are preset in an image captured by a camera, an area, the luminance level of which exceeds a predetermined threshold level, may be displayed as a gray level or a black level, with the luminance thereof decreased by a certain luminance level, or may be displayed while a mask, having a gray or black level, and the area, the luminance level of which exceeds the predetermined threshold level, overlap each other. Therefore, glare caused by a high luminance subject can be decreased, or other subjects present in a backlit image can be easily recognized.

  • Patent number: 7493038
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling a privacy mask display includes a monitoring camera which is if tilted and its tilt angle becomes greater than 90° when a privacy mask to mask a specific target object in a captured image frame is displayed, an image and the privacy mask in the frame are rotated 180° with respect to the CCD center axis, and the optical center axis stored in the apparatus is also rotated 180° with respect to the CCD center axis. Afterwards, if the zoom ratio of the monitoring camera changes, the size and position of the privacy mask are adjusted relative to the optical center axis rotated 180° with respect to the CCD center axis. It is therefore possible to freely perform zooming and tilting operations without danger of exposing the privacy-protected target object even under the condition that the optical center axis and the CCD center axis of the monitoring camera do not coincide.
