Abstract: A Korean character input apparatus using a touch screen is provided. The apparatus includes an input window comprising a consonant input key, a “” vowel input key to the right of the consonant input key, and a “—” vowel input key under the consonant input key, a character combining means by which, when one of the “” vowel input key and the “—” vowel input key is touch-selected, a consonant corresponding to the consonant input key provided to the left of the “” vowel input key or provided above the “—” vowel input key is selected as an initial consonant and is combined with a vowel, an output window for displaying the composed Korean character, and a controller for controlling a touch input on the input window and an output of the composed Korean character on the output window.

Abstract: Provided are a bone conduction-based earphone, a bone conduction-based headphone and a method for operating a medium device using the same. The bone conduction-based earphone includes: a bone conduction sensor for detecting a sound transferred through the bone; and a controller for manipulating a medium device connected to the earphone in response to the pattern of the sound detected by the sensor. The earphone or headphone transfers an air conduction sound received from a medium device and a bone conduction sound generated from the collision of teeth of a person together in an independent manner. By doing this, a user may effectively control the medium device by means of the bone conduction sound generated by the collision of teeth while receiving sound information such as music. Therefore, the user may effectively manipulate or control the medium device by using the teeth instead of the hand.

Abstract: A method for inputting a Korean character by using a touch screen is provided. The method includes detecting touch points of a first touch and a second touch on the touch screen, displaying a consonant of a consonant input key corresponding to a center point of the detected touch points on the touch screen, and releasing the first touch and the second touch and inputting the displayed consonant as an initial sound. The method can minimize the number of character input keys arranged on the touch screen used in the portable terminal and combine the Korean character with the minimal touch action for inputting the Korean character, so that it is possible to simplify the input action for the Korean character input, thereby curtailing an input time for inputting the Korean character and effectively utilizing a limited touch screen region.

Abstract: A touch screen control method for controlling a playback of multimedia content using a timeline-based interface includes detecting a selection at a specific location on the timeline; and selectively zoom-displaying an area around the location where the selection is detected the position on the timeline where the event trigger has occurred.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling content based on a timeline in a timeline-based content control apparatus with a touch screen. The method includes generating and displaying a linear timeline bar on the touch screen regardless of the size of content; detecting contact on the timeline bar; nonlinearly distorting a predetermined section of the timeline bar being displayed around the touch-detected position on the timeline bar; and performing a fine search and shifting the distorted section depending on a direction of the user's touch.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for inputting Korean characters are provided. The method includes determining an initial consonant by making a first touch of a consonant input key displayed on a touch screen and determining a vowel by making a second touch while maintaining the first touch and making a dragging gesture continuing from the second touch. The method of inputting Korean characters provides a Korean input scheme that effectively uses a multi-touch feature capable of recognizing simultaneous touches on two or more points.

Abstract: A method for inputting a Korean character using a touch screen of a mobile device determines a vowel as a neutral vowel according to multi-touches centered around a consonant input key displayed on the touch screen. The method can minimize the number of character input keys arranged on the touch screen utilized in the mobile device, and can combine the Korean characters through the minimal touch action for inputting the Korean character.

Abstract: A method for controlling a touch screen using a timeline bar is provided. The method includes detecting a first dragging that starts from a bar on a timeline, zooming in the timeline according to a distance between the timeline and a final touch point of the first dragging, and shifting the bar on the zoomed-in timeline by a second dragging. Thus, it is possible to more precisely control the content even on a small touch screen just like on a large touch screen. In addition, the timeline blockage caused by the finger tip may be prevented, so the user may control the content more intuitively in the desired level.

Abstract: Provided are a touch screen control method and a touch screen device using the same. The touch screen control method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: generating a mark on a virtual touch position, which corresponds to the touch position of a user according to the touch event conditions of the user; and moving the virtual touch position in response to the touch position movements of the user, thereby performing at least one of the commands below. i) a first command according to the distance change between the user touch position and the virtual touch position or ii) a second command different from the first command, which is executed depending on the change of rotation angle of a user touch. A touch panel input method of the present invention and an apparatus thereof efficiently perform enlargement, reduction, rotation, and the like using only one hand by setting an additional mode which is not a general object movement mode.
