For example, the swelling tape can be applied inside a gap in which a fluid exists so as to fill the gap by becoming a 3D form, and can be useful at anchoring a subject in which the gap is formed, as necessary.

The method manufactures a secondary battery having no beading portion at a battery can and includes preparing a battery can having an outer protrusion protruding outwards on the outer circumference thereof, inserting an electrode assembly into the battery can, and applying a pressure to the outer protrusion of the battery can toward the inside of the battery can so that an inner protrusion is formed on the inner circumference of the battery can.

The electrode assembly may be effectively fixed inside a can as a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape attached to an outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly is formed into a 3D shape by an electrolyte. Thus, the electrode assembly does not move and rotate inside the can due to external vibration or impact and damage of welded regions of a tab or disconnection of inner circuits can be prevented.

The cap assembly comprises a main gasket surrounding the outer circumference of a safety vent and an auxiliary gasket surrounding the outer circumference of a current interrupt device (CID). The main gasket is supported by the auxiliary gasket, leaving no space between the main gasket and the safety vent. The cap assembly is constructed such that the auxiliary gasket prevents the main gasket seated on a beading portion from sagging. This construction makes the cap assembly effective in preventing an electrolyte from leaking. Further provided is a cylindrical secondary battery comprising the cap assembly.
