  • Patent number: 8072506
Abstract: The present invention provides an effective flicker detection method performing a motion compensation. The present invention includes the steps of: calculating a luminance difference between neighboring pixels; summing up the luminance difference in a specific direction if the difference is greater than a threshold value; performing a motion estimation by using a sum calculated through step (b) to thereby calculate a motion displacement; performing a motion compensation to a current frame data by using the motion displacement; calculating a difference between a previous frame data and the compensated current frame data; and detecting the flicker by using the difference calculated in step (e).

  • Publication number: 20110135151
Abstract: A digital image processing apparatus and method for supporting a RAW format (a sensor data format before image processing is performed) selectively supports a user-desired region of a captured image in a RAW format. A method of supporting a RAW format in a digital image processing apparatus includes setting at least one portion of an image displayed in a live-view mode as a region of interest (ROI), storing the ROI in a RAW format, storing a non-ROI of the displayed image, which is a portion of the image other than the ROI, in a compression format, and compositing the stored ROI with the stored non-ROI.

  • Publication number: 20100289923
Abstract: A digital image processing apparatus that supports multi-display to reproduce images on an external display apparatus connectable to the digital image processing apparatus, a method of operating the digital image processing apparatus, and a computer readable recording medium recorded thereon a program for executing the method. The digital image processing apparatus includes: a digital signal processor which, when a signal of a first display command is input to the digital image processing apparatus, displays a screen obtained by performing the first display command on the digital image processing apparatus, and when a signal of a second display command corresponding to the signal of the first display command is input to the digital image processing apparatus, displays a screen obtained by performing the second display command on the external display apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100079621
Abstract: An exemplary image processing method and apparatus, and an exemplary digital photographing apparatus, may develop and display a screen nail image and a face screen nail image rather than a full resolution image. The screen nail image may be generated using RAW data output from an image sensor, a predetermined face region of the screen nail image may be detected, and the face screen nail image may be generated from the screen nail image using coordinates of the detected face region. Thus, power consumption and processing time delay caused by processing all parts of a full resolution image may be minimized, and a quality of the full resolution image may be conveniently checked. As a result, a user may conveniently select and store an image in high-speed still picture photographing.

  • Publication number: 20090268080
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus for and method of processing a digital image, specifically, a bracketing apparatus and method for use in a digital image processor, which can reduce a photographing time by calculating focuses for all detected faces by moving a focus motor only once after face detection, and then performing bracketing by compensating the focuses by an interval of the focus motor applied while calculating the focuses of each face. The bracketing apparatus includes a digital signal processor, which detects one or more faces from a live-view image, detects focus values for all detected faces by moving a focus motor only once, and then performs bracketing by compensating a focus by an interval of the focus motor applied while detecting the focus values of each face.
