  • Patent number: 7706406
Abstract: A data transmission method is provided for a medium access control (MAC) of a mobile telecommunication system. Each logical channel may transmit a response field to the transport channel. The response field may represent a data characteristic and an amount of data having a corresponding characteristic. This may be transmitted with the response field representing a data amount of a buffer. The transport channel may perform a TFC selection based on priorities of each logical channel and the data characteristic.

  • Patent number: 7450511
Abstract: A method for polling a protocol data unit (PDU) of a Radio link control (RLC), including the steps of selecting a data unit in a buffer, transmitting a selected PDU and polling bit to a receiver when it is a polling period, receiving a status signal from the receiver corresponding to the polling bit and varying the polling period when the status signal is received more than a predetermined number of times spanning a number of transmission time period, can prevent waste of wireless resources and delay of data transmission by adaptively varying the radio access capability of a terminal according to the status of the wireless environment. The status signal is an Acknowledge (ACK) signal or a Negative acknowledge (NACK) signal, and if the ACK signal is received more than a predetermined number of times, the polling period is increased and if the NACK signal is received more than a predetermined number of times, the polling period is decreased.

  • Patent number: 7325172
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method. The method includes synchronizing a first device and a second device. If the first device and the second device both initiate the synchronizing at substantially the same time, then the first device and/or the second device may compensate for synchronization errors. In other words, when two devices begin communication, one or both the devices may perform a procedure which causes the two devices to successfully synchronize. Accordingly, when the two devices are synchronized they will be able to communicate. However, if both devices initiate synchronization at substantially the same time, absent additional measures, the two devices may not be synchronized. Accordingly, in embodiments of the present invention, these synchronization errors are compensated for, if a first and second device both initiates a synchronization procedure at substantially the same time.

  • Publication number: 20040047331
Abstract: A data transfer controlling method in a mobile communication system, in which a window size SUFI (super-field) is controlled and thus a receiving buffer for a transfer of next data is controlled, thereby preventing a damage such as a data loss. For a reception of a protocol data unit (PDU) of a radio link control (RLC) layer, the window size SUFI and the receiving buffer are properly controlled, thereby preventing a data loss according to a buffer overflow, a time delay, and a waste of a radio resource. Also, the present invention can provide affirmative effects on the 3GPP communication standard by disclosing a positive utilization method of the window size SUFI only of which form has been defined.
