Publication number: 20120114763Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a collagen/apatite composite membrane useful as a barrier to protect fibrous connective tissues from infiltrating into a site of defective tissue or bone in guided tissue regeneration (GTR) or guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedures. Such composite membrane can be obtained by the steps of co-precipitating collagen and apatite in aqueous basic solution in a very well controlled manner, followed by casting the precipitation onto a filter paper, lyophilization and cross-linking. The method according to the present invention can allow forming a collagen/apatite composite membrane in which the crystals of apatite, in particular, hydroxyapatite are coated on and along with the collagen fiber direction without aggregation of self-assembled collagen fibers. Such composite membrane has excellent biological and mechanical properties such as biocompatibility, cell affinity, biodegradability and form stability, and therefore it can be used as a barrier for GTR.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2005Publication date: May 10, 2012Applicants: GENOSS LTD, SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY INDUSTRY FOUNDATIONInventors: Hyoun-Ee Kim, Hae-Won Kim, Ju-Ha Song, Sung-Min Chung

Publication number: 20080293014Abstract: Disclosed is an emergency implant fixture comprises a body having tapered outside in which its diameter is decreased from its upper portion to its lower portion, external screw threads formed on the tapered outside of the body, and internal screw threads formed in the body to be extended from an inserting recess formed in a center of the upper portion of the body. The fixture is directly planted into a damaged alveolar bone without supplementing any substitute materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2008Publication date: November 27, 2008Inventor: Sung-Min CHUNG

Publication number: 20080081316Abstract: A fixture is disclosed, in which a small thread part is formed at an upper side of a fixture, and a large thread part is formed at a lower side of the same, with the leads of the small and large thread parts being same, and with the small thread parts being not overlapped with each other, and with at least two thread parts being formed. When implanting a fixture into an alveolar bone, a cancellous bone with a smooth tissue contacts with a large tread portion of the fixture, so that an engagement force is enhanced. An alveolar bone contacts with a small thread part of the fixture, so that an engagement is enhanced. A bone destroy is prevented by continuously providing a certain stimulation to an alveolar bone. The fixture is stably fixed based on multi-step small thread parts. Since an upper side of the fixture is formed with a certain inclination, mixing of smooth tissue is basically prevented. A cut groove is formed at a lower side of the fixture for a self-tapping of the fixture.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2006Publication date: April 3, 2008Inventor: Sung Min Chung

Publication number: 20060222678Abstract: The present invention relates to a biocompatible implant coated with a biocompatible fluor-hydroxyapatite and a coating method of the same, and in particular to a method for coating a hydroxyapatite(HA) and a fluor-hydroxyapatite on a biocompatible implant Ti metal substrate having an excellent biocompatibility and mechanical property and a biocompatible implant coated based on the above method. It is possible to maximize of an apatite itself and a biocompatible activation characteristic of a substrate in such a manner that an apatite is coated on a titanium substrate having a high mechanical physical property by a sol gel method. It is possible to adjust a biocompatible activation based on a solubility difference of two kinds of apatites by coating a double layer of a hydroxyapatite and a fluor-hydroxyapatite.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2003Publication date: October 5, 2006Inventors: Hyoun-Ee Kim, Hae-Won Kim, Sung-Min Chung, Sang-Wan Shin, Joon-Bong Park, Ee-Hyung Woo, Baek-Su Lee
