  • Publication number: 20110013239
Abstract: A transmission mechanism for switching output powers includes first to fourth transmission gears, first and second power-connecting members and a driving mechanism. The first power-connecting member coaxially disposed between the first and second transmission gears is moved axially, and connects the first and second transmission gears together to transmit power to the second transmission gear. The second power-connecting member coaxially disposed between the third and fourth transmission gears is moved axially and connects the third and fourth transmission gears together to transmit power to the fourth transmission gear. The driving mechanism synchronously drives the first and second power-connecting members to move axially to selectively connect the first transmission gear to the second transmission gear, or connect the third transmission gear to the fourth transmission gear. A scanning apparatus using the transmission mechanism is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100270738
Abstract: The invention provides an automatic document feeder for a scanning apparatus. The automatic document feeder includes a feeding passage, a feeding mechanism, a shaft, an idle roller, and a detecting device. The feeding mechanism is used for transporting a document along the feeding passage. The shaft is disposed at the feeding passage, and the idle roller is sleeved on the shaft. When the document is transported through the feeding passage, the idle roller is driven to rotate by the document. The detecting device detects a rotational speed of the idle roller and outputs a detection signal according to the rotational speed of the idle roller.

  • Publication number: 20100259801
Abstract: A sheet feeder having a sheet-stopping function includes a rotating shaft, a sheet-input roller and a sheet-stopping mechanism. The rotating shaft is rotatable in a first direction and a second direction. The sheet-input roller mounted on the rotating shaft feeds a sheet. The sheet-stopping mechanism is driven by the rotating shaft to switch between a sheet-stopping state and a non-sheet-stopping state. The rotating shaft is rotated in the first direction to enable the sheet-stopping mechanism to enter the non-sheet-stopping state and allow the sheet to come into contact with the sheet-input roller. The rotating shaft is rotated in the second direction to enable the sheet-stopping mechanism to enter the sheet-stopping state and block up a passage to the sheet-input roller. A scan apparatus using the sheet feeder is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100225048
Abstract: An automatic sheet feeding apparatus includes a pick-up mechanism, a sheet transporting mechanism, a power source and a clutch. The sheet transporting mechanism transports a sheet picked up by the pick-up mechanism through and out of a passageway. The power source for driving the pick-up mechanism includes a power output shaft and a first transmission gear for respectively outputting and transmitting power. The clutch includes a second transmission gear and a power coupling component. The second and first transmission gears are disposed coaxially. The power coupling component is coaxially disposed between the first transmission gear and the second transmission gear and is coupled to the first transmission gear. The power coupling component reciprocates back and forth along an axis to selectively couple and drive the second transmission gear. The second transmission gear is coupled to the pick-up mechanism, and the power source selectively drives the pick-up mechanism through the clutch.

  • Publication number: 20100096797
Abstract: A sheet feeder has a transmission mechanism which includes an output gear mesh with a transmission gear train, and a switch element, disposed between the transmission gear train and the output gear, for switching a rotational direction of the output gear. The switch element includes a movable arm, a driving gear driven by the transmission gear train, a switching gear set attached to the arm and meshing with the driving gear, and a clutch device for restricting movement of the arm to enable the switching gear set to be disengaged from the output gear. When the output gear meshes with the switching gear set, the output gear and a transmission shaft of the sheet feeding mechanism may change the direction of their rotation. When the output gear is disengaged from the switching gear set, the output gear and the transmission shaft of the sheet feeding mechanism are not driven by a power source.

  • Publication number: 20100084810
Abstract: A sheet inputting mechanism includes a first body, a first roller, a second body, a second roller and a stopper. The first roller is mounted on the first body. The second body is rotatably connected to the first body. The second roller is mounted on the second body. The stopper rotatably mounted on the first body is directly driven by the second body. When the second body is rotated to a first state relatively to the first body, the stopper is rotated to a closing state relatively to the first body to prevent a sheet from being moved to a sheet input position. When the second body is rotated to a second state relatively to the first body, the stopper is rotated to an open state relatively to the first body to allow the sheet to be moved to the sheet input position and in contact with the first roller.

  • Publication number: 20100072696
Abstract: A document processing apparatus includes a sheet passageway, a sheet-feeding mechanism and a rotatable gap sensor. The sheet-feeding mechanism transports a first sheet and a second sheet successively through the sheet passageway. The rotatable gap sensor is rotated by movement of the first sheet and the second sheet for the detection of the presence of the first sheet and the second sheet. The rotatable gap sensor generates a plurality of state signals with respect to rotating states of the rotatable gap sensor.
