Abstract: An apparatus and appertaining method for controlling the apparatus are provided for processing a digital image, which can capture an image with reduced hand shake effect without using a hand shake sensor. The apparatus includes: an image input unit receiving a plurality of input images from the outside; and a control unit receiving the plurality of input images when a shutter-release button select signal is input from the outside, selecting a clearest image from among the input images as a best image, and capturing the best image.

Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for providing composition information in a digital image processing device whereby composition information of a target object displayed in a live-view screen is provided using auditory information or visual information during photographing in order to induce a composition of the target object to be matched to a predetermined composition for photographing. The apparatus includes a detection unit detecting a composition of an object from a live-view image to be captured, a comparison unit comparing the detected composition with a reference composition, and a control unit performing a control operation to output an auditory alert signal until the detected composition is matched to the reference composition and performing a control operation to output an auditory match signal when the detected composition is matched to the reference composition.

Abstract: A digital photographing apparatus which automatically determines a face, as chosen by a user, on which autofocusing is to be performed while not imposing an excessive computational load on the digital photographing apparatus. Also provided is a control method for the digital photographing apparatus, and a recording medium storing a program for executing the control method. The digital photographing apparatus includes an image division unit dividing an image into a plurality of regions, a first score assignment unit assigning a first score to each face part included in the image according to a region to which the face part belongs, and a face part determination unit determining a face part on which autofocusing is to be performed, based on the first score assigned to each face part.
