The apparatus is generally an electronic device that includes a memory configured to include a secured region to store security information and a processor configured to electrically connect with the memory. The processor is further configured to execute an application program configured to store the security information in a first secured region, to receive a request to store the security information from the application program, and to store the security information in a second secured region different from the first secured region in response to the request.

Abstract: A method operable in a portable terminal is provided, which enables a first aid guide to be displayed even in a locked screen state, whereby instructions for an emergency illness are provided. A first aid icon may be displayed in the locked screen state, wherein selection of the icon is detected as a request to display a first aid guide. If a preset illness has been stored in the portable terminal in association with the portable terminal user, the first aid guide corresponds to the preset illness. An emergency contact and treatment instructions corresponding to the illness may be displayed in the first aid guide.
