Abstract: A printing control apparatus includes a user interface to display at least one of pre-stored hierarchical printing options if a command to print an XPS file is received, an analysis unit to analyze a hierarchical structure of the XPS file, an applying unit to apply a pre-stored hierarchical printing option selected from among the at least one displayed hierarchical printing options to the hierarchical structure of the XPS file, and a communication interface to transmit the XPS file to which the hierarchical printing option is applied to the image forming apparatus. Therefore, a user can hierarchically set frequently used hierarchical printing options in a convenient manner.

Abstract: A printing control apparatus is provided. The printing control apparatus includes a user interface to set a printing option for a document to be printed, an extraction unit to determine whether the set printing option is a printing option for pre-processing, a generation unit to generate a setting file corresponding to the pre-processing printing option if the printing option is the pre-processing printing option, a conversion unit to convert an XPS file into an enhanced XPS file that includes the generated setting file, and a controller to transmit the enhanced XPS file to the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a communication interface unit to receives an XML paper specification (XPS) file, an XPS file processing unit which converts the XPS file into an output data corresponding to printing paper to print the XPS file using information regarding the height and width of a FixedPage in the XPS file, and a control unit which controls the image forming apparatus to print the output data. Accordingly, even when an XPS file does not include information regarding printing paper, a user can select and print printing paper suitable for the user's demand.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus and method includes a storage device to store a plurality of documents, a user input device to select at least two documents from the plurality of documents stored in the storage device in a predetermined order and selects the number copies to be printed for the at least two selected documents to request complex printing, a print engine to print the at least two selected documents by the selected number of copies, and a controller to control the print engine in such a way that when complex printing is requested, the at least two documents are printed out one by one according to the predetermined order and by the selected number of copies, thereby discharging printed complex documents in the selected number of copies. Abstract: A system and method is provided for requesting service for an image formation apparatus using two-way real-time communication with a service center server. The method for requesting the service from the service center server providing services relating to an image formation apparatus by using a terminal apparatus connected to the image information apparatus includes the steps of inputting a connection command for connecting the terminal apparatus and the service center server, connecting the terminal apparatus and the service center server to perform two-way real-time communication, and requesting the service from the service center server through the terminal apparatus. Abstract: A method and system to retrieve specific files stored in a plurality of output devices of the system including a host and the plurality of output devices having corresponding storage units connected to a network. The method includes transmitting a retrieval request containing inquiry conditions to one or more output devices registered in the host, accessing the corresponding storage units of the one or more output devices according to the retrieval request and transmitting the result of the retrieval request to the host, displaying the result of the retrieval request, and creating and storing a list of files stored in the corresponding storage units of the one or more output devices, and the list of the files is updated when a new file is stored in the corresponding storage units of the one or more output devices. The files stored in the output devices registered in the host can be retrieved through a single retrieval command.

An advertisement data processor creates print data for an advertisement by processing the advertisement data according to the layout information. A combining unit combines the print data for the document and the print data for the advertisement to create combined print data including the advertisement.
