  • Patent number: 7307544
Abstract: A method for communication between inside and outside of a transmission medium using the transmission medium as a communication line, includes the steps of: receiving an electric signal having information related to a transmission medium from a plurality of sensors inside the transmission medium; conducting the electric signal to the transmission medium; and sensing the electric signal flowing to the outside of the transmission medium. Because a modulating unit is not necessary, a power consumption is minimized. In addition, since an electric signal is directly conducted to a medium, it is not necessary to use an antenna, and thus, degradation of a reception rate according to a directional property of the antenna can be prevented. Moreover, since the electric signal is directly generated in the medium and the medium is directly used as an electric conductor, the overall size of a transmitter is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7046876
Abstract: Disclosed is an interleaver for an optical communication system. A dual collimator is combined with a first optical fiber acting as a light input port and one end of a second optical fiber spaced from the first optical fiber, and switches light advancing along the first and second optical fibers into parallel light. A beam splitter is arranged so that one surface is opposite to the dual collimator, and transmits one half of an input light and reflects the other half of the input light. A single collimator is arranged opposite to the other surface of the beam splitter, and combined with the other end of the second optical fiber so as to switch light advancing toward the other end of the second optical fiber into parallel light. An output optical fiber is arranged opposite to the other surface of the beam splitter and acts as a light output port.

  • Publication number: 20050069763
Abstract: A lithium secondary battery capable of preventing explosion or firing caused by the increase of inner pressure due to misusage is disclosed. The lithium secondary battery includes an electrode assembly having an anode plate, a cathode plate and a separator, a package having a receiving portion for receiving the electrode assembly and sealed and filled with electrolyte together with the electrode assembly, and an adhesive layer at least partially formed on an outer surface of the package. The lithium secondary battery functions as an explosion-proof safety device for preventing the package from exploding due to abrupt breakage of the package when the package is expanded due to the increase of inner pressure of the battery over a critical value.
