    Abstract: A normalization method of ink drops to ensure uniformity of an amount of ink drops ejected from nozzles of an inkjet head. The normalization method including ejecting a predetermined number of ink drops from the nozzles into pixels while changing a voltage applied to the nozzles, measuring the mean thicknesses of ink layers formed in the pixels, and setting a target thickness of the ink layers and applying a voltage corresponding to the target thickness to each of the nozzles.

    Abstract: A method of fabricating a black matrix of a color filter is provided. In the method, a black matrix layer formed of a hydrophobic organic material is formed on an upper surface of a transparent substrate. A black matrix is formed by patterning the black matrix layer. Side surfaces of the black matrix are made hydrophilic by irradiating a lower surface of the transparent substrate with ultraviolet rays while heating the black matrix. A black matrix provided by the method is also disclosed.

In the method, a transparent substrate is prepared, and a black matrix of a pixel pattern is formed on the transparent substrate. At least one pixel on the transparent substrate is selected, and an ink is ejected into the selected pixel in order to fabricate the color filter. The ejected ink is then promptly dried using a dryer.
