    Abstract: A package substrate is provided and includes a core board body and a first circuit structure and a second circuit structure disposed on opposite sides of the core board body, where the number of wiring layers of the second circuit structure is different from the number of wiring layers of the first circuit structure, so that the package substrate is asymmetrical. The first circuit structure and the second circuit structure are designed according to the thickness and coefficient of thermal expansion of the first dielectric layer of the first circuit structure and the second dielectric layer of the second circuit structure, so as to prevent the problem of warping from occurring to the package substrate.

The focus offset of a recording unit is set to a first of a plurality of predetermined values. A HF quality value is measured and stored for the selected focus offset value of the recording unit. The focus offset is then set to a best-known focus offset value. Tracks on the optical media being read are then jumped. The above steps are then repeated for each of the plurality of predetermined focus offset values. The optimal focus setting is then determined from the stored HF quality measurements.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for selecting a public land mobile network (PLMN) for a mobile station are provided. The method and the apparatus according to this invention use the first and the second system information included in the broadcasting information broadcasted by a base station to find out all of the base stations belonging to the same PLMN as that base station in the base station table, and group those base stations belonging to the same PLMN as a base station group. The method and the apparatus according to this invention only need to synchronize with one base station in a base station group, and the other base stations belonging to the same base station group as that base station are known. Accordingly, the selection method according to this invention can substantially reduce the time for selecting a PLMN and improve the corresponding efficiency.
