Abstract: Provided are an apparatus for automatically detecting broadcasting signals and a method of the same to conveniently detect the broadcasting system of the broadcasting signals. The apparatus includes a frequency detection unit detecting a color sub-carrier frequency of the broadcasting signals, a synchronous signal separation unit separating a horizontal synchronous signal of the broadcasting signals, and a control unit determining a type of broadcasting system of the broadcasting signals using the color sub-carrier frequency and the horizontal synchronous signal.
