  • Patent number: 8284726
Abstract: An apparatus for allocating a resource in a wireless communication system using an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) scheme includes an analysis unit to analyze a signal received from a terminal over a channel to determine characteristics of the channel; an allocation unit to allocate a first frequency band to the terminal based on the characteristics of the channel; and a frequency hopping unit to perform frequency hopping from the first frequency band to a second frequency band after a first time period. A method for allocating the resource in an OFDMA wireless communication system includes analyzing a signal received from a terminal over a channel to determine characteristics of the channel, allocating a first frequency band to the terminal based on the characteristics of the channel, and performing frequency hopping from the first frequency band to a second frequency band after the first time period.

  • Publication number: 20100232537
Abstract: A space-time coding apparatus receives two groups of inputs and outputs two groups of outputs. A configuration of each output group is based on spatial diversity and a configuration between the groups of outputs is based on spatial multiplexing. The space-time coding apparatus may include two spatial diversity coders whose outputs are each connected two spatial multiplexing coders. A plurality of antennas may be respectively connected to outputs of each spatial multiplexing coder. Coding coefficients are configured so that a first wireless receiving terminal corresponding to a first group of outputs receives only input signal components of a first group of inputs, and a second wireless receiving terminal corresponding to a second group of outputs receives only input signal components of a second group of inputs.

  • Publication number: 20100232536
Abstract: A multi-antenna wireless transmission apparatus for multiple receiving terminals includes a channel characteristic acquiring unit to acquire characteristic parameters of a wireless transmission channel between a transmitting party antenna and a receiving party antenna, a coefficient calculator to use the characteristic parameters of the wireless transmission channel to calculate coefficients configured such that the transmitting party sets a ratio of received power for a transmission signal at the receiving party to intensity of interference and noise of the transmission signal, and a precoder to multiply an input signal by a matrix whose elements are the coefficients calculated by the coefficient calculator and to output an output signal. The output signal is to be transmitted from the transmitting party antenna to the receiving party antenna.
