  • Publication number: 20090015618
Abstract: An inkjet image forming apparatus includes a negative pressure controller in an ink supply flow path that connects an ink storage and a print head. The negative pressure controller includes a valve to open and close the flow path to control a negative pressure applied to the print head. If there is a need to cool the ink heated by a maintenance operation performed on the print head or to cool the ink heated by a print job, a controller in the apparatus controls the valve of the negative pressure controller to release the negative pressure applied to the print head so that the print head is filled with low-temperature ink from the ink storage.

  • Publication number: 20090015619
Abstract: An ink supply device to maintain temperature uniformity of ink via active heating and cooling of the ink, and an inkjet image forming apparatus having the same includes at least one thermoelectric element to adjust a temperature of ink to be supplied to an inkjet head. With heating and cooling of the thermoelectric element, preventing deterioration in image quality caused by a change of ink temperature and to achieve improved print quality is possible.

  • Publication number: 20090002426
Abstract: An inkjet image forming apparatus sets an initial ink temperature according to a dot area of a dot-sized pattern printed by the printer head, and calculates an ink temperature by applying the initial ink temperature to a temperature conversion equation. The inkjet image forming apparatus prevents a measurement error of the temperature sensor from valid data after the printing process is terminated, so that it can correctly measure the ink temperature of the printer head.

  • Publication number: 20070013727
Abstract: An ink level detecting apparatus usable with an inkjet printer, which uses an optical fiber to detect the ink level. The ink level detecting apparatus includes: an ink tank having an ink outlet; an optical fiber disposed near the ink tank; a light source which is disposed at a front end of the optical fiber and emits light; a light receiving sensor which is disposed at a rear end of the optical fiber and senses light propagating through the optical fiber; and a pressuring unit which presses the optical fiber so as to bend the optical fiber according to the weight of the ink tank.

  • Publication number: 20060238565
Abstract: An inkjet image forming apparatus to reduce an effect of missing or inoperable nozzles by ejecting ink at an oblique direction with respect to a direction along which paper is transferred through the apparatus using a print head that executes a reciprocal pendulum movement. The inkjet image forming apparatus reduces the effect of the missing or inoperable nozzles on the image quality by causing the obliquely mounted print head to move in reciprocal pendulum movements.
