  • Publication number: 20180020371
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for aggregating network traffic over two or networks via which a mobile device or user equipment (UE) accesses a core network, such as a network providing the Internet and other services to the mobile device. In some embodiments, the systems and methods manage, provision, and/or direct network traffic (e.g., upload or uplink traffic and/or download or downlink traffic) within a communications network to different access networks via a network aggregation node, such as a node placed within an IP layer established between the access networks and the core network.

  • Patent number: 8126510
Abstract: A system and method for providing a communication between public safety officials is disclosed. In a system of the invention, a communications network architecture includes a base transceiver station hub where the base transceiver station hub includes public safety network communications equipment and non-public safety network communications equipment. The architecture also includes a plurality of distributed antenna system (DAS) nodes and the base transceiver station hub is operatively coupled to the plurality of DAS nodes. In a method of the present invention, the method includes providing the public safety communication from the base transceiver station hub to one of a plurality of distributed antenna system (DAS) nodes by public safety network communications equipment included in the base transceiver station hub.

  • Patent number: 7813641
Abstract: A fiber optic cable topology for a fiber optic repeater distributed antenna system network and a method of configuring the network using the topology is disclosed. The topology includes a first base transceiver station hub, a second base transceiver station hub, and a fiber optic backbone coupled between the first base transceiver station hub and the second base transceiver station hub, where the fiber optic backbone includes a plurality of optical fibers. A distributed antenna system repeater node is coupled to the first base transceiver station hub and the second base transceiver station hub. An optical fiber of the plurality of optical fibers in the fiber optic backbone includes a first portion and a second portion, where the first portion extends between the first base transceiver station hub and the DAS repeater node and the second portion extends between the second base transceiver station hub and the DAS repeater node.

  • Patent number: 7711393
Abstract: A cellular communications network architecture is disclosed. The architecture includes a mobile switching office, a first base transceiver station in communication with the mobile switching office via a first communications link, and a second base transceiver station in communication with the mobile switching office via a second communications link. A first optical switch is in communication with the first base transceiver station via a third communications link and a second optical switch is in communication with the second base transceiver station via a fourth communications link. A fiber optic communications link couples the first optical switch with the second optical switch. The first optical switch is physically located separate from the first base transceiver station and the second optical switch is physically located separate from the second base transceiver station.
