    Abstract: Embodiments herein describe tokenizing a data sequence to perform a wildcard lookup. For example, a network device (such as a NIC or a switch) can receive a data sequence (e.g., an IP address, Uniform Resource Locator (URL), domain name, etc.) which can be broken down into separate tokens. After identifying a first token, the network device can search a wildcard lookup table to determine a first entry in the table that matches the first token. Assuming there is a match, the network device can identify an action associated with the entry. If the action is to continue with the search, the network device can then retrieve a key from the entry which it then combines with a second token in the data sequence to again search the wildcard lookup table.

    Abstract: Tunnel endpoints may encapsulate the packets of a network flow, such as a forward flow from one computer to another, in encapsulating packets. A forward flow packet of the forward flow may include static header fields, pseudo-dynamic header fields, and dynamic fields. The control plane and the data plane of a tunnel endpoint may omit the static header fields and may omit the pseudo-dynamic header fields from encapsulating packets after sending a first encapsulating packet that includes the forward flow packet and a forward flow value associated with the forward flow. Subsequent encapsulating packets may include the forward flow value and the dynamic field values of subsequent forward flow packets of the forward flow. The static header fields and/or the pseudo-dynamic header fields of the subsequent forward flow packets may be omitted from the subsequent encapsulating packet.

    Abstract: A hub can service data requests for various different clients having different periodic fix intervals. The sensor hub detects a specified value on a timer, and adjusts a count associated with each client by the specified value. The adjustment can be either to increment or decrement, depending on the implementation. If the adjustment to any count causes the count associated with the client to reach the periodic fixed interval associated with the client, the sensor hub notifies the client. For counts that have not reached the respective fixed periodic request interval, the sensor hub iterates for the next specified value for the timer.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use with AGP-capable computer systems are disclosed. Since each AGP-capable chipset can have a unique range of graphics port aperture sizes that it supports, current graphics port aperture drivers are chipset-specific, with hard-coded tables of supported graphics aperture sizes. Described herein is a driver that dynamically ascertains the range of supported graphics aperture port sizes for an attached AGP-capable chipset, thus allowing this driver to be ported between different chipsets without manual reconfiguration and recompiling. The method employed in the driver sends one or more test aperture size values to a register resident in the chipset, and then reads what is written to see if the chipset changed any of the bits of the test value. The method infers supported sizes from examining which, if any bits, were changed by the chipset.
