Abstract: Technologies are disclosed for managing one or more quick response (QR) code-based media control device functions, such as configuring one or more consumer profiles related to the media control device. A QR code may be scanned, for example using a camera in communication with the media control device. The camera device may be integrally mounted with the media control device, or remotely mounted from the media control device. The media control device may interpret information conveyed by the QR code. One or more parameters for one or more consumer profiles for use on the media control device may be ascertained, perhaps for example based, at least in part, on the information. The media control device may configure at least a first consumer profile, perhaps for example using, at least in part, the one or more parameters. The first consumer profile may be implemented on the media control device.

Abstract: A method, a set-top box, and a non-transitory computer readable medium for content switching and content control based on multi-user profiles. The method includes: capturing, by the set-top box, the facial information of two or more users of the plurality of users viewing content on a media play device, the media play device configured to display content from the set-top box; sending, by the set-top box, the captured facial information of the two or more users of the plurality of user viewing content on the media play device to the server; and receiving, on the set-top box, recommended content for the two or more users viewing the media play device based on a multi-user profile for the two or more users from the plurality of user profiles.

Abstract: A method, a set-top box, and a non-transitory computer readable medium for log based issue prediction. The method includes receiving, on a processing server, system log files from a customer-premises equipment, the system log files containing events that are logged by an operating system of the customer-premises equipment; parsing, by the processing server, the events of the system log files to processes and mapping the processes to one or more components of the customer-premises equipment; extracting, by the processing server, features from the mapped processes of the one or more components of the customer-premises equipment; classifying, by the processing server, the extracted features with a first machine learning algorithm; and predicting, by the processing server, anomalies in one or more components of the customer-premises equipment with a second machine learning algorithm using the classified features from the first machine learning algorithm.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a device and method for controlling ambiance based on user-requested content. The device receives training data, user content requests, and user network device modification data. The device ascertains a content type for a user content request, performs analytics on the training data to create a model to predict ambiance settings, predicts ambiance settings for the content type using the model, evaluates the accuracy of the model and performs optimizations to the model to improve the predictions of the ambiance settings. The device controls the operating settings of one or more network devices based on the predicted ambiance settings. Moreover, exemplary embodiments are directed to controlling the enabling of display notifications, controlling reminder notifications, and controlling greeting notifications using a face identifier and notification settings.

The system and method provide for the video content to be transferred between multiple screens so as to provide a user with a substantially continuous video experience as the user travels between screen locations. User images captured by both video and still image cameras can be utilized for purposes of user recognition. One or more media hubs may be utilized in performing and supporting the disclosed technology.

Abstract: A system and method for providing content-dependent location information based upon video frame information. In response to ta user command, video frame data is captured from content being viewed and analyzed with respect to location information database. The analysis ideally leverages artificial intelligence and/or machine learning processes and returns a graphical improved content casting audio management. The content-dependent location information is provided to a requesting user graphically and or audibly.
