Patent number: 9599976Abstract: This technology relates to systems and methods for effective selection of disparate distributed power sources for smart grid in near real time manner to meet the specific power demand. Power from the plurality of disparate power sources is received and then one or more power sources among the plurality of disparate power sources are selected based on one or more predefined requirements. At least one effective power source is determined from the one or more power sources by applying one or more algorithm based on number and range of the one or more power sources. The one or more algorithm comprise Complete Karmarkar Karp (CKK), pbrute, Heuristic based pbrute. A signal for selection of the at least one effective power source is generated and the signal is sent to a circuit switcher to supply the power from the at least one effective power sources to the smart grid.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2014Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Infosys LimitedInventors: Allahbaksh Mohammedali Asadullah, Sunil Kumar Vuppala

Patent number: 9571345Abstract: A system and method for generating an optimized operating schedule for a plurality of heterogeneous wireless network appliances managed by a gateway device in a closed area network is disclosed. An amount of energy consumed by each network appliance as well as preassigned operational priority values assigned to each network appliance per time slot over the designated time period is considered. A plurality of proposed operation schedules are iteratively generated, wherein each proposed operation schedule selectively assigns the network appliances to operate at various time slots based on their assigned operational priority values. An optimized schedule is selected which has a determined lowest aggregated total utility cost and a greatest aggregated operations value for the network appliances in the subset. The selected optimized schedule is then implemented by the gateway device to manage operation of the network appliances in the closed area network.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2014Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: Infosys LimitedInventors: Animikh Ghosh, Ketan Patil, Sunil Kumar Vuppala

Patent number: 9444687Abstract: A system, medium and method of managing, via a gateway device, to wirelessly communicate with a plurality of network appliances in a closed local area network is disclosed. A data message is received from a first network appliance configured to communicate data in association with a first application profile. The first application profile is retrieved from a locally stored application profile database upon being identified. A database is accessed at the gateway device containing policy information of the first network appliance and evaluated for one or more policy parameters. A first instruction command is generated at the gateway device based on the accessed policy information, wherein the instruction command conforms with the first application profile to instruct the first network appliance to perform a specified action. The instruction command is wirelessly transmitted from the gateway device to the first network appliance to cause it to perform a specified action.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2014Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: Infosys LimitedInventors: Animikh Ghosh, Ketan Patil, Sunil Kumar Vuppala

Patent number: 8873438Abstract: A method and system for adaptive aggregation of data in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is disclosed. The method receiving one or more packets produced from a plurality of sensor nodes at an aggregator sensor node. The method further includes categorizing and storing the received packets in the buffer queue of the aggregator node. Then initiating an aggregation process by selecting an aggregation mechanism. The aggregation mechanism is selected based on the feedback value and a special instruction. The aggregated packets are forwarded to the base station based on an aggregation function.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2010Date of Patent: October 28, 2014Assignee: Infosys LimitedInventors: Kumar Padmanabh, Sunil Kumar Vuppala

Publication number: 20140052304Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a policy-based, power consumption management of resources. Power consumption data is relayed to an event management system for conducting a pattern analysis of the resources based on historical values and external factors. The event management system may provide a graphical interface for implement decisions pertaining to resource management and effective policy enforcements. The energy management system is further configured to communicate with a data layer to receive measured values.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2013Publication date: February 20, 2014Applicant: Infosys LimitedInventors: Sunil Kumar Vuppala, Animikh Ghosh

Patent number: 8649298Abstract: A method for creating a virtual Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is disclosed. The method includes extracting one or more niceties of a physical WSN and embedding at least one of the extracted niceties in a soft object to represent one or more sensor nodes of the physical WSN. The method includes, sending equivalent command to the one or more sensor nodes of the physical WSN, when one or more changes are performed on corresponding niceties of the soft object. Further, the method adding or deleting one or more niceties corresponding to the one or more sensor nodes from the soft object upon ingress or egress of the one or more sensor nodes in the physical WSN. The method also includes steps of building application using the soft object of the virtual WSN.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2011Date of Patent: February 11, 2014Assignee: Infosys Technologies, Ltd.Inventors: Kumar Padmanabh, Adi Mallikarjuna Reddy Vanteddu, Sougata Sen, Amrit Kumar, Puneet Gupta, Lakshya Malhotra, Sunil Kumar Vuppala

Patent number: 8427319Abstract: A method for tracking one or more portable devices in real time to detect theft of the one or more portable devices is provided. The method enables, firstly, interrogating a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag via a RFID reader during successive sweep intervals. The sweep interval represents active state of the RFID reader. Secondly, the method enables receiving one or more pairing information from the RFID tag. Further, the method enables comparing the one or more pairing information with corresponding one or more pairing information stored in the RFID reader. Finally, the method enables generating an alert signal via the wearable-band or the one or more portable devices when the one or more pairing information does not match with the corresponding one or more pairing information stored in the RFID reader.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2009Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Infosys Technologies LimitedInventors: Sunil Kumar Vuppala, Puneet Gupta, Kirti Chawla
