  • Patent number: 9270969
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a non-transitory computer readable medium for performing 2D to 3D conversion are presented. A 2D input source is extracted into left and right 3D images. Motion vectors are calculated for the left and right 3D images. Frame rate conversion is performed on the left 3D image and the right 3D image, using the respective calculated motion vectors, to produce motion compensated left and right 3D images. The left and right 3D images and the motion compensated left and right 3D images are reordered for display.

  • Patent number: 9161023
Abstract: An interleaved multi-view video stream is received. The interleaved multi-view video stream includes one or more first view frames, one or more second view frames, and blanking frames in a sequential pattern. The blanking frames separate the first view frames from the second view frames in the sequential pattern. The interleaved multi-view video stream is displayed in the sequential pattern. • Patent number: 8896676
Abstract: A 3D video viewing shutter device receives display response time from a 3D video display device for determining shutter open and close times. Response time may correspond to display type, a particular display and/or a change in pixel illumination levels between frames. The shutter device receives response information during device initialization and/or corresponding to changing pixel illumination levels. A sequence of 3D frames may comprise a pattern of left frames, right frames, blank frames and/or frames comprising a combination of left and right frames. Based on display device and/or shutter device response times, the shutter device may extend shutter transmittance time during a frame display interval into a blank frame interval. Transmittance may be enabled during display of blank frames subsequent to left or right frames. The shutter device and display device may communicate via a wireless link for example, via a Bluetooth wireless link utilizing Bluetooth clocks.

  • Patent number: 8395709
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing motion judder in a 3D input source are disclosed. The 3D input source is separated into left and right images. Motion vectors for the left and right images are calculated. Frame rate conversion is performed on the left and right images, to produce motion compensated left and right images. The left and right images and the motion compensated left and right images are reordered for display. Alternatively, the motion estimation and motion compensation can be performed on the 3D input source, and the input image and the motion compensated image can then be separated into respective left and right images. The method and apparatus can be adapted to perform 2D to 3D conversion by extracting a 2D input source into left and right 3D images and performing motion estimation and motion compensation.
