  • Patent number: 4461481
Abstract: A driver type of golf club is provided which includes a hollow metal head having integrally formed thereon a front striking face and a rear wall with interior flat portions, and a removable sole plate. A rod having a back plate integrally formed on the rear thereof has a cylindrical weight slidably mounted thereon. The rod is fixed in position within said hollow metal head with its back plate anchored against the interior flat portions on the rear wall thereof and with its front end held in an opening provided in a front plate anchored against the back of the striking face. At the instant of impact of the striking face of the head with a golf ball, the cylindrical weight is propelled to freely slide along the fixed rod to hit the front plate on the back of the striking face, and therefore the ball, with a delayed impulse which creates an additional transfer of momentum to the ball thereby increasing the distance that the ball travels.

  • Patent number: 4202912
Abstract: A process is provided for preserving fresh vegetables such as cabbages and/or radishes used in making a Korean pickled food called kimchee. After being washed in water and cut-up into sizeable pieces, the vegetables are soaked in salt water, dried to remove any excess moisture, and then vacuum packaged. This enables the vegetables to be maintained without spoiling for a period of two weeks or so without refrigeration. Associated with each vacuum package of vegetables is a package of a mixture of condiments as needed for seasoning the vegetables to obtain the desired pickled kimchee taste upon fermentation.

  • Patent number: 4184709
Abstract: A hatchback station wagon having a rear cargo space is provided with a rectangular opening on its rear roof portion which is covered by a roof panel hinged at its front end to the roof. The hatchback door of the station wagon is hinged to the rear end of the roof panel which is normally held in its closed position by sliding pins mounted on the bottom rear thereof engaging openings on the rear sides of the rectangular opening. When it is desired to provide a vertical clearance for the cargo space, the sliding side pins are disengaged such that the roof panel can be swung upwardly on its front hinges and folded back against the front portion of the roof with the hatchback door lying thereover.
