  • Publication number: 20090063433
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for providing command manager support for pluggable data formats. The present invention accepts arbitrary hierarchical input data structures even when the hierarchical input data structure represents hierarchical data in a structure independent of a specific type of data repository. A data mediator receives a hierarchical input data structure and determines whether if it is a snapshot structure or a delta structure. If it is a snapshot update, the command manager creates an in-memory map object structure populated with values from a data repository and compares it with the snapshot. Based on the comparison, it generates a DESPI hierarchical command structure in a format-specific mediation module, and the commands are executed in the data repository. If the hierarchical input data structure is a delta structure, the command manager generates a hierarchical command structure and then translates it to a DESPI-compliant command structure.

  • Patent number: 7490098
Abstract: A method is disclosed for receiving a hierarchical data structure, analyzing the hierarchical data structure to determine what actions are needed to correctly process the hierarchical data structure in a data repository, generating a hierarchical command structure comprising a series of repository-specific commands needed to interface with the data repository, and executing the repository-specific commands to process the hierarchical data structure with respect to the data repository. In selected embodiments, the hierarchical command structure is represented as a series of nodes including a parent node and at least one child node.

  • Publication number: 20090037898
Abstract: The illustrative embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for automatically migrating a resource adapter component. In one embodiment, information describing a development and runtime environment associated with a first version of a resource adapter is collected by a migration framework to form real environment information. A specification of requirements associated with a second version of the resource adapter is received from the second version of the resource adapter to form a required environment specification. The migration framework compares the real environment information with the required environment specification. In response to identifying incompatibilities between the real environment information and the required environment specification, the migration framework automatically executes a migration scenario to resolve the incompatibilities.

  • Publication number: 20090019458
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for providing seamless multiple format metadata abstraction. A metadata application programming interface (API) is provided to abstract metadata from an incoming business object and provide it to an adapter for processing. The metadata API is configured to operate on multiple metadata formats such as SDO and JavaBean such that the adapter receives the metadata from the metadata API in a common format that is compatible with the adapter. In this manner, the multiple metadata formats may be plugably used with the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20080307432
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer-usable program product for exchanging data using data transformation are provided. A first data binding component receives data from a function selector. A set of data bindings capable of invocation by the first data binding component is available. The function selector determines a content type associated with the data. The first data binding component receives the data and the content type from the function selector. The first data binding component invokes a data binding corresponding to the content type from the set of data bindings to transform the data into a data object. The data object has an object name. A target application is determined based on the object name, and the data object is then routed to a target application.

  • Publication number: 20080281862
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for generating from application modifications commands to modify the objects in a repository. An input object including an update to at least one of a plurality of objects in a repository object is received. At least one maintain property associated with at least one of the objects is received. The at least one maintain property indicates whether to maintain the at least one object associated with the maintain property in the repository object that is not indicated in the input object. A determination is made of an object in the repository object that are not indicated in the input object. For the determined object, the maintain property associated with the determined object is used to determine whether to maintain the determined object in the repository object.

  • Publication number: 20070130181
Abstract: Disclosed is a computer implemented method, computer program product, and data processing system for propagating object fields associated with an event to a client application. A software module gets an event having an event identifier, wherein the event identifier is associated with a business object. The software module analyzes the business object and the application specific metadata to determine the delta component used for the event. The software module builds the delta business object based on the delta content. The software module determines if the business object has a child object. The software module sets the business object to be the child object in response to a determination that the business object has the child object. The software module propagates the delta business object to the client application.

  • Publication number: 20070033594
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for object clone event notification. The apparatus is provided with a logic unit containing a plurality of modules configured to functionally execute the necessary steps of detecting an event on a primary software object, referencing a set of clones of the primary software object, and notifying one or more clones in the set of clones of the event in response to the event. The event may include events occurring on the primary software object, or events occurring on a software object monitored by the primary software object. These modules in the described embodiments include a detection module, a reference module, and a notification module. Beneficially, such an apparatus, system, and method would notify object clones of changes within the software system without requiring resource intensive broadcasts or implementation of a separate notification manager.

  • Publication number: 20060282524
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for assuring delivery of an Enterprise Information System (EIS) event to a client. An adapter apparatus polls at least one EIS for an event. The event is staged to a staging table, consisting of an XA-compliant database, in preparation for delivery to the client. The status of the event is marked and the event is delivered to the client. Events delivered to clients that are unresponsive or otherwise unavailable are held until the clients become responsive and then the events are delivered. Delivery of events is confirmed using a transaction service.
