Patent number: 8890594Abstract: A system for synchronizing a functional reset between first and second clock domains that operate on first and second clock signals, respectively. The system includes first, second and third synchronizer flip-flops that operate on the second clock signal. The first synchronizer flip-flop receives a functional reset signal generated by the first clock domain at its reset terminal and generates a low output signal. The low output signal causes the second synchronizer flip-flop and subsequently the third synchronizer flip-flop to generate low output signals at positive edges of the second clock signal. The low output signal generated by the third synchronizer flip-flop is used to reset the second clock domain.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2013Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Assignee: Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: Surendra Kumar Tadi, Nitin Kumar Jaiswal

Publication number: 20140334488Abstract: Techniques are provided to decouple service chain structure from the underlying network forwarding state and allow for data plane learning of service chain forwarding requirements and any association between services function state requirements and the forward and reverse forwarding paths for a service chain. In a network comprising a plurality of network nodes each configured to apply a service function to traffic that passes through the respective network node, a packet is received at a network node. When the network node determines that the service function it applies is stateful, it updates context information in a network service header of the packet to indicate that the service function applied at the network node is stateful and that traffic for a reverse path matching the classification criteria is to be returned to the network node.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2013Publication date: November 13, 2014Applicant: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: James Guichard, Paul Quinn, David Ward, Surendra Kumar, Navindra Yadav, Michael R. Patent number: 8502603Abstract: A circuit includes a differential amplifier having a folded cascode architecture with a pair of cascode transistors. A sensing circuit senses a common mode input voltage of a differential input signal applied to the differential amplifier. A bias generator circuit generates a bias voltage for application to the pair of cascode transistors in the folded cascode architecture. The bias generator circuit is connected to an output of the sensing circuit such that the generated bias voltage has a value which is dependent on the sensed common mode input voltage. This dependence stabilizes a common mode output voltage from the differential amplifier in response to changes in the common mode input voltage.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2013Date of Patent: August 6, 2013Assignee: STMicroelectronics International N.V.Inventors: Tapas Nandy, Surendra Kumar

Publication number: 20090288104Abstract: Techniques for providing extensibility framework for processing network packets are described herein. In one embodiment, in response to a packet received at a network element, the packet is processed using a generic process for performing a first type of operations required by the packet, wherein the first type of operations is common to a type of the packet. An extended process is invoked, via an extensibility application programming interface (API), to perform a custom operation that is not common to the generic process and is not statically known to the generic process, in order to determine whether the packet is eligible to access a resource of at least one of a plurality of application servers of a datacenter, including a layer-7 access control process. The network element operates as an application service gateway for the datacenter. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2008Publication date: November 19, 2009Applicant: Rohati Systems, Inc.Inventors: Nagaraj Bagepalli, David Chang, Surendra Kumar, Abhijit Patra
