  • Patent number: 8402143
Abstract: A proxy is in communication with an internet protocol network and a mobile operator network. The proxy receives first communications from access points via the internet protocol network, transmits content from the first communications to the mobile operator network, receives second communications from the mobile operator network, and transmits content from the second communications to the access points via the internet protocol network. The proxy may perform operations based on the first and second communications received from either the access points, or from the mobile operator network. The operations performed by the proxy may include modifying the communications, saving certain information regarding the communications, performing authentication, encryption, or decryption of the communications, determining a destination for the communications, or sending the communications to a destination.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 2007
Date of Patent: March 19, 2013
    Assignee: Airvana LLC
Inventors: Suresh Ramaswamy, Woojune Kim, Prince Samar, Prasasth R. Palnati, Shi Baw Ch'ng, Arthur J. Barabell
  • Patent number: 8099504
Abstract: A radio network controller and methods for reestablishing sessions in a wireless network are described. At least a portion of session information associated with a first session is saved; and in response to detecting an unexpected degradation of the first session, reestablishment of the first session is triggered using the portion of the session information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 2005
Date of Patent: January 17, 2012
    Assignee: Airvana Network Solutions, Inc.
Inventors: Sanjay Cherian, Dennis Ng, Arthur J. Barabell, Suresh Ramaswamy, Deepak Garg

  • Publication number: 20070140218
Abstract: Techniques for initiating a backhaul connection between a radio node controller and a packet data serving node of a radio access network based on a determination of a presence of a packet data session on an access terminal. Techniques for enabling a dormant access terminal in communication with a radio access network to maintain a point-to-point (PPP) session with a packet data serving node as the dormant access terminal moves from a coverage area associated with a first radio node controller to a coverage area associated with a second radio node controller prior to a completion of a backhaul connection setup by the first radio node controller.

  • Patent number: 7043731
Abstract: Object distribution systems and methods for controlling load distribution during access to objects resident on a plurality of computers attached to a communication network. Systems comprise client and server computers attached to a communication network. Client programs are resident on the client computer and objects are resident on the servers. Various objects are grouped together with other objects that perform similar functions into an object group. The methods involve receiving a request for a function performed by objects within the object group, using a distributor to select between the various objects within the object group, and providing a reference to the selected object to the client program.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5610832
Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing multiple connection modes in a CAD tool or other computer program for integrated circuit design. The apparatus includes a graphical editor for entering and modifying, in memory, circuit elements of an integrated circuit layout. Within the apparatus is an implicit connection generator for automatically extracting electrical connections between the circuit elements in the layout, the generator representing the connections by connectivity data stored in a design database contained within memory. Also within the apparatus is an explicit wiring generator for creating and preserving electrical connections between the circuit elements in response to user commands from the editor. The explicit wiring generator represents the connections by connectivity data stored in the design database.
