  • Patent number: 9314148
Abstract: A motionless adaptive focus stereoscopic scene capture apparatus employing tuneable liquid crystal lenses is provided. The apparatus includes at least two image sensors preferably fabricated as a monolithic stereo image capture component and at least two corresponding tuneable liquid crystal lenses preferably fabricated as a monolithic focus adjustment component. Using a variable focus tuneable liquid crystal lens at each aperture stop provides constant magnification focus control. Controlled spatial variance of a spatially variant electric field applied to the liquid crystal of each tuneable liquid crystal lens provides optical axis shift enabling registration between stereo images. A controller implements coupled auto-focusing methods employing multiple focus scores derived from at least two camera image sensors and providing multiple tuneable liquid crystal lens drive signals for synchronous focus acquisition of a three dimensional scene.

  • Publication number: 20140278056
Abstract: Systems and methods of route-specific searching are provided. Information about a first location and second location may be processed. The information about the second location may be from a user and may indicate a destination. A first route from the first location to the second location may be identified. A search query may be processed. Search results may be identified, and, a third location corresponding to the search result may be identified. A route from the first location to the third location to the second location may be determined. A deviation of the route with respect to the first route may be determined. A search result may be selected based on the deviation. A map may depict an area including the first location, the second location, and the third location. The route from the first location to the third location to the second location may be indicated.

  • Publication number: 20140067540
Abstract: A method of presenting fuel prices and corresponding fuel providers in a geographical area of interest to a user of a mobile computing device is provided. A mobile application is provided. A first set of fuel pricing information stored in a repository, information about a first location, and a subset of fuel pricing information are processed. The subset of fuel pricing information corresponds to a second set of fuel prices offered within an area proximal to the first location. The subset of fuel pricing information is categorized according to price, identifying each of the second set as corresponding to one of two or more price categories. Indication of fuel prices corresponding to the first price category is caused. Indication of locations corresponding to the first price category is caused.

  • Patent number: 7665091
Abstract: A system and method is provided for sharing constrained resources between two or more processes running within a common operating environment. The system is implemented by establishing a communications interface to each process sharing the resource data. The method obtains the resource data to be shared from one or more resource sources. In communication with the processes, the communications interface receives resource data requests and processes the requests with the resource data. Finally, the method communicates the processed resource data request, via the communications link, to the requesting process.

  • Patent number: 7113625
Abstract: A method of analyzing images of stained slides on a remote client computer connected to a wide area network such as the Internet includes the steps of scanning a stained slide to produce a digital image file of the stained slide and storing the digital image at a first location. An image viewer and analysis program is executed on a client computer in a location remote from the first location. A stored digital image from the first location is transferred to the client computer. A user selects a field from the stored digital image using the image and analysis viewer program. The field is then scored either manually or automatically. A user may also score a section of a field. Multiple fields and/or sections may be scored to achieve an overall score for the slide. A hardcopy report may be generated based on the scoring.
