Abstract: A detergent composition comprising: (a) an alkali component selected from the group consisting of sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, and mixtures thereof; and (b) a dye transfer inhibition additive selected from the group consisting of: (i) a sugar surfactant selected from the group consisting of an alkyl polyglycoside having general formula (I)R.sub.1 O(Z).sub.a Iwherein R.sub.1 is a monovalent organic radical having from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; Z is a saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms; a is a number having a value from 1 to about 6, an alkyl glucose ester, an aldobionamide, a gluconamide, a glyceramide, a glyceroglycolipid, a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide and mixtures thereof; (ii) an alkyl sulfate; (iii) an aminocarboxylic acid amphoteric surfactant; and (iv) mixtures of (i), (ii), and (iii).

Abstract: An aqueous antimicrobial cleaning composition comprising: (a) a surfactant; (b) triclosan; and (c) a tocopherol and a process for inhibiting the color degradation of an aqueous antimicrobial cleaning composition involving the addition of an effective amount of a tocopherol thereto.

Abstract: An aqueous waterwhite clear liquid detergent concentrate consisting essentially ofA) at least one sodium, potassium or ammonium salt of a straight or branched chain C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkylethoxy (1-3EO) sulfate;B) at least one mono- or di-ethanolamide or isopropanolamide of a C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 straight or branched chain saturated fatty acid; andC) from about 20 to about 90% by weight of water based on the weight of the concentrate; and wherein the weight ratio of component A to component B is in the range of from about 3:1 to about 20:1.The invention also relates to diluted in-use solutions of the above concentrate, which are especially useful for hand dishwashing.

Abstract: The invention relates to polyoxyalkylene quaternized salts as phase transfer catalysts for liquid/liquid phase cyclopropanation, substitution or addition reactions involving a normally liquid or solvent soluble olefinically unsaturated hydrocarbon and the process in which said quaternary compound is utilized. The involved quaternized salts are defined by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl having 8 to 30 carbon atoms, blends thereof or alkyl-substituted phenyl of 10 to 24 carbon atoms;n has a value of from 2 to 14 and includes mixtures within said range;R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen atoms or one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is methyl;R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently hydrogen, an alkyl radical of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or phenyl or one of R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 is an .beta.-ethyl-alkali metal sulfonate;A is a phosphorous or a nitrogen atom; and halo is a chlorine or bromine ion.
