    Abstract: A portable device capable of communicating with a patient monitoring device is disclosed. The portable device comprises a processor configured to receive medical content presented by the patient monitoring device. The medical content is associated with physiological parameters of a patient monitored using the patient monitoring device. The processor emulates the medical content for presentation. A display of the portable device is configured to present the emulated medical content to the user. The portable device is also configured present guidance information received from the patient monitoring device. The user can access the guidance information for operating the patient monitoring device through the portable device.
